I was confused because usually they will advise to get the stamp but that day he told me not to worry about the stamp. Maybe he can that I am approved but he couldnt tell me..lol..I called the 29th and the approval was 28th..when you call, eacalate the call to tier 2.

Thanks.. I might call this week. Not in an urgent mode. I am only thinking to call them bec right now in middle of obtaining a mortgage loan. I think the expired card + letter will be fine.. but some lenders doubt bec the letter states it is not  a guarantee for approval :)

Just updated the list from last couple of pages. Congratulations to all the approvals. Sorry to see California does not have a SINGLE approval. My extension letter expires today. Yes, there is a lot of debate going on about when your extension expires, one year from NOA1 of your extension letter or one year from expiration date of green card. USCIS has been modifying the NOA1 to say one year from the expiration date of green card. I have been trying to get an appointment to get the I-551 stamp in the foreign passport. I need the stamp for name change; Social Security would not accept my extension letter to change name. Like many members, I have been unable to get an appointment. Therefore, I will check for appointments between 12:00 and 1:00 am and install an auto-refresh extension in the web browser.

Your NOA1 is Oct 1st week and mine is Oct 11.. I see many approvals for late Oct NOA's.. don't know how they skip the dates

Regarding Infopass appt for NYC I seen slots open during afternoon .. so try to refresh it every hour

Thank you for adding me in the list.

Today I had appointment to get my stamp, which went well, officer gave me one year without any questions. I asked her to check if she is able to see anything regarding my case, since tomorrow will be precisely 365 days since my NOA1. She looked at it and said that she doesn't see any updates and it is within "normal" processing time. I asked her to clarify what is normal, she said well right now Vermont looking at August 15th so you are about 2 month away from hearing anything back.... I politely asked if she is sure that is is current processing dates and not as of July 31(which it obviously is) and she with straight face said she is sure about it. (wow, just wow....)

Also she did say that all 751 will go thru the interview now, however she is not sure if it is applicable only to a new applicants of for the people who wait now as well (so basically she doesn't know nothing).

To summarize, ladies and gentleman, don't let them confuse you, as they don't know absolutely nothing and will tell you any nonsense so that you leave them alone...(same applies to Tier 1 and Tier 2 call center)

Wish everyone luck!

Hey, thanks for the tip. I had been checking at night. I will start checking afternoon now. It seems it was better to send application later in the month to get approved faster.

Can't blame.. Approximately 10-15K CR-1 visas issued per month... only 2 service centers handling it make it harder for them to process.

I think they are not foolish to interview every applicant.. def cases with red flags will def get interviews.. may be starting from FY18 cases.. means NOA1 from Oct 2017.

We finally have an appointment. What did you need to bring to get your stamp? Do we just need to bring our NOA1 and foreign passport?

Hi Everyone - update.  We called USCIS yesterday - they told us the one year extension is from the date of the letter - not the green card expiration date.  Our letter expires Oct 11th.  So we have made an appointment at our local field office for an extension.  They had told us for CSC they are still working on July 2016 filers.  Our appointment for our extension is Oct 10th.  We will let you know how it goes.  Good luck everyone.

twinkie3841, you should be fine. Read the experience below.

Just to share my experience, my extension letter was supposed to expire Sept 2017 but I got the stamp in March 2017 - 6 months in advance. When I went for my appointment, I simply told the officer my dog destroyed the letter. No further questions asked, she took my passport and gave me the stamp with an expiration date of March 2018. She also returned the expired green card... so in general that 30 days rule isn't really set in stone and actually depends on who u deal with.
