I have received my EAD/AP combo card in the mail yesterday :dancing: My status on the case tracker also changed to "Card Was Delivered To Me By The Post Office".

I do have a couple questions that I am hoping you all could help me out with. When I first applied for a social security number, I applied in my birth name and then they couldn't do it because my I-94 was going to expire within two weeks or something. Anyway, now that I have my EAD/AP combo card, I can go back in and finish the application so I can get my social security number. The thing is, my EAD/AP combo card is in my married name because that's how I applied for the AOS. Is this going to be a problem?

In addition, if I would travel outside of the USA I would use my passport which of course has my birth name in it and not my married name. Is this going to be a problem as well coming back into the USA? Please help. Thanks everybody. I hope everyone's process will go fast.

Is your marriage certificate under your new name? You might be able to travel within the us if you take your marriage certificate, but as far as i know the name on your passport has to match the name on your ticket. I would advise to change your passport to your new name, that can be done with your marriage certificate. Remember that the AP card does not ensure you will be able to come back in to the usa, that is up to the immigration official. So I wouldn't go out unless it was an emergency.

In the Dutch passport, they don't mention a married name. It's always your maiden name and then they could make a mention in your passport that your married to (name of husband). I am so concerned now. We want to go on holiday in July next year.

On our marriage certificate it of course has my old name, because it's your responsibility to change your name officially.

If I were you wait for your GC and buy the tickets under your maiden name. Anybody can correct me if I'm wrong. You I'm not sure if this is different for every state, but you can change your name with your marriage certificate and take the certified copies to the SSA.

I called yesterday and requested an expedite for my EAD - they just emailed me about 20 minutes ago asking I fax additional information over (so my offer of employment, I'm also going to attach a cover letter explaining the situation). So I'll go find a fax machine somewhere and try to do that today!

Please I need help to expediate EAD please what is the best way out of it. My congress contacted uscis on my a half but I have not heard anything so far

Hey, I didn't go through my congressman so I cannot offer any help for that route.

What I did was call USCIS directly, ask them to expedite my EAD due to financial hardship, explained that I had a job offer and that without the EAD I was unemployed and not making any money. Not being able to take that job at the time it was offered would mean the offer would go away and I would lose out on making money, and being in NYC rent and life in general is pretty expensive etc etc. They processed the request and emailed me the next day asking I fax additional documentation to go with my request - in this case I faxed them the offer of employment, as well as a letter detailing my situation again.

After that, it was accepted and the card went into production.

You are too negative about this.

Yes you'll have to wait but it will not start the clock all over again, but it will stop from the time they gave you the RFE to the time they have received the response and then they'll start working on it again.

Also IF you were to get a RFE again it would have nothing to do with a SR you would get it no matter what if they would send you one.

Do not feel like no update on website is an indication that things are not moving. My online status says card being produced however I check my app and I can see it is being delivered today. My status said received application for 3 weeks after the bio. Dont be discouraged. Keep your hopes up..

same here. EAD, social and DL are all with married name. when you travel outside USA, bring your marriage license with you in case they have a problem. anyhow, all information in their system already.

It has been over a month since biometrics and still nothing. Trying to stay calm. My husband called USCIS and they said we have to wait until 75 days and do an inquiry. They also said our case has not been transferred to Albuquerque yet so they don't know when any interview might be coming up. They said that the wait at Albuquerque is 5 months for the green card though so at least that is comforting. Trying not to get too worried - I need my husband to get a job soon so I can leave the job that is making me physically (and mentally and emotionally) ill from stress.
