Waiting for A Visa Interview In The Jerusalem Consulate

my case was complete on June 23th, I received an Email from NVC saying the case is in queue awaiting an interview appointment overseas. My interview is supposed to be in the Jerusalem consulate. Does anybody know how long it takes for this consulate to schedule a CR-1 visa interview?

is it a busy consulate??

Hi, since we used Jerusalem also, it was less than a week after getting finished from NVC that we got the appointment for the interview. when my husband got the date scheduled it was about 6 weeks out.

And it is a busy consulate, it was full of people waiting the day he was there.

weird.. it's been 2 weeks already, i know it's busy and all.. but what's so difficult in scheduling an interview

I understand your eagerness to get this process over with (I'm the same way), so I looked through the case complete to interview spreadsheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xbLl_8yDgHLeDaLnTrPdYc44J0sjPSFfYCKxlKx6uTY/edit#gid=0) for you and it looks like the most recent VJ member to interview from Israel is on July 15th, they got CC on May 10th, and they didn't get an interview letter until May 27th. So they waited about 2.5wks for an interview letter, which means you might get your interview either this week or next week (just based on the spreadsheet). Try to stay positive... your interview will be scheduled soon I'm sure

Oh yes, that's correct It just so happened that the US just had a 3-day weekend, and then there's Eid this week also; so due to the holidays, the slight delay in scheduling your interview was inevitable, but at least NVC has a good excuse hehe

when am I likely to get info about my interview? I've heard that the consulates send NVC a list of all their available dates for interviews at the end of the month and NVC fills them in, does it mean that I should wait for the end of this month to find out?

the consulate I'm supposed to be interviewed at is Jerusalem.

Hi JusticeWarrior67, Did you get your interview date yet?

Our case was completed on August 11th of last year and our interview date was nearly 2 months later on October 8th which did seem like a very long time. Mind you there were several Jewish and Muslim holidays in the interim, plus Labor Day, and I do think that delayed things. It was difficult waiting, but we made it. Things can change quickly, I remember calling NVC on September 10th to inquire about our case and they said the consulate was done scheduling October interviews. I called back the next day just for the heck of it and they said we had an interview date in early October! So don't despair, it will happen soon enough!
