I think you do need your case number for the form, not receipt number. Not 100% sure, though, but I think the case number really is the important one at that point.

K-1 Visa

Ahh! I had to call CBP myself and they helped. We had the wrong number. So we DO have an i94. We already sent in our AOS, too. Great! Now to yell at these people... Lol. Thanks guys! I appreciate it

Hmm? So don't use the SRCxxx~ use the case number given by nvc on the 160?

There's one forum I found on it. It looks like some say you need case #, and some say you can use receipt number. I would personally wait until you have the case number and use that, since that's going to be what you use from here on out. It won't really delay you to just wait to do the ds160 until you know your case number; just make sure you keep calling NVC each day to see, then fill out the form when you have it.

Edit: So I think they only ask you the receipt number on the ds160; it's your consulate that will ask for your case number, I believe! So Nevermind hahaha!

I started to fill out the DS-160 on Friday and it does ask for the receipt number. It asks for the "receipt number given to you by the USCIS" and has the example "SRCXXXXXXXXX". I'm not completely done filling out the form yet so I don't know if/when it asks for the case #

04/15/2016 - Received email "On March 16, 2016 your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence was approved.We have reviewed our electronic records and found that your Permanent Resident Card (PRC) is already in production." (NO INTERVIEW)

05/05/2016 - Another online service request asking status of PRC

05/18/2016 - Received email saying file was in Sacramento, not Pittsburgh, and it was not approved yet. WHAT?!?!

05/20/2016 - Status changed online to "On May 16, 2016, we ordered your new card"

05/23/2016 - USCIS status change - "On 05/23/2016, we mailed your new card" (text & email)

05/24/2016 - USCIS status change - "On 05/24/2016, USPS picked up your new card" w/ tracking info (text & email)

05/26/2016 - Received card in mail

Feels so strange that things are actually happening after all this waiting.

I feel the same way. I got the "ready" message today and I'm just sitting here staring at it not knowing what to do.... even though I've been reading for months what to do... my mind just went blank HAHA

Just doesn't feel like it's real

What to wear at the interview? This is a question that's more for me than you I think. I've lost a bunch of weight since last year and all my "business casual" skirts are now too big for me. I guess I'll have to buy a new "business casual" skirt and a shirt so I look decent at the interview.

Hey All!

When calling the NVC, am I meant to be getting a "Thank you for calling the National Visa Centre! Because of the large number of calls we've been receiving, all of our customer service representatives are busy helping other customers. Please try again later...." recording? And then it disconnects. I haven't heard this "busy" signal everyones been mentioning, or is that it? Am I doing it right?! Hahaha. Now that it's more of an involved waiting game, I am convinced I'm going to screw it up somehow! Reassure me! Ahhhh! Hahaha.

I cant track it yet on the CEAC website but still very excited :)

From what I've read you can dress casually, but not as though you're going to the beach lol
