NOA2 Approvals-October 2014 Filers (TSC)

7 business days (not including memorial day) since I received NOA2 and no email/update of it being sent to NVC.. normal? Anything I can do?

It took them 18 days to even send my application to NVC after it was approved.

As of yesterday not yet received but NVC - will keep calling

Most people with NOA2s after me have already received they NVC case number and mine has probably only just arrived there with no progress as of yet.

Unfortunately you just need to be patient there is still more waiting even at this stage..

On June 3, 2015, we sent your case, Receipt Number SRC15900*****, to the Department of State for visa processing.

Just received the email that it was sent to DOS. Same as NVC right?

Im getting soooooooooo frustrated.

After waiting 7 months for an NOA2 I was approved on May 11, it took USCIS almost 3 weeks to send my case to NVC.

I am still waiting for NVC to receive it, i called today and they still haven't received it.

Meanwhile I'm looking at other's timelines who were approved even after me and have been waiting less than two months to be approved and their petitions have already left NVC and are on their way to their consulates!

So disappointed, you would think that since some of us had to wait triple the time of some of the people that have applied in the last few months, they would make a bit of an effort to send our applications in a hurry

I just want to have my case number so I'm not in approval limbo

Also i am aware that in my previous post i preached about being patient but I guess i suck at taking my own advice lol

Just want to add that my check status didn't come up until it was ready for interview. So it's possible that the system just doesn't show you anything until the consulate receives it (meaning that part is the part that's down lol). I checked everyday almost every minute and got nothing up until it up and said 'ready'!

Just to double check.... When you check your status, you get "Your search did not return any data." until it's actually "ready"???

Yep. And according to other people's experiences (and a blog I read on the process!), this shouldn't happen. It should say when it gets to NVC, when it leaves NVC, and then when it's ready for interview. It didn't say anything until my case had already been received by the consulate. It just kept saying 'there was no data' on it.

Today my fiancé (petitioner) has received an e-mail from the embassy describing which documents I will need for the interview etc. I wonder why they sent it to him? Oh well. Things seem to be moving forward now

Normal. At least lately. Not supposed to be but that's how it is. It will update when the case is at the embassy to ''ready''.

Hi everyone am Estefany(the petitioner) have not posted on here but wanted to say thank you to everyone for the incouraging words towards october filers, you all have helped my fiance and I get through 7 months of waiting. I receieved my Noa2 on May 21st and June 1 they sent it over to NVC, was able to get in touch tonight after redailing for about 30mins but like everyone else I got the 30 day speech. But I have a quick question as I have been confused about this for a couple of days are we able file the DS-160 w/o the new case #??? Much appreciated!! ☺

I maybe wrong but I think K visas do not file DS-160's but DS-156's.

I looked up the ds-156 here on vj and it says ds-160 is a replace for ds-156 I guess the only difference is that now it's electronic

Like I mentioned earlier, THIS is pretty common right now. For some reason the system isn't picking up the numbers until the case is ready for interview. You most likely have the right number; it's just not going to update you until it's reached the consulate. When I was at NVC, I called to double check my number, and it was right; they just told me the system is simply messed up right now.

DS160 is what you will complete, and not DS156.

It does ask for a case number on the form, but I believe you can put in your USCIS number (the SRC or the WAC one).

Since you called them yesterday, I would give it until sometime later in the week. .

Yea, thats what I thought of doing contacting them next week again, and thank you I will give it try with my USCIS # if not I'll just have to wait
