Twitter Campaign? Anyone?

Hi everyone,

It feels like everyone here is just frustrated.

I've sent every email to every person that I possibly can. I've tweeted, facebooked etc. With all the amazing people on here, maybe we should try to get something trending on Twitter. I have a meeting at 1:30, but I'll brainstorm on good hashtags and lets fill up @uscis's feed. If we can get everyone to post once a day it's better then nothing. (I'll try to track them to see what we get accomplished.)

Getting something to trend on Twitter is not as simple as just using a common hashtag. You need simultaneous usage of that hashtag for it to get some traction. It has to be something that lets the average Twitter use relate, also. While immigration may be a topic with enough breadth, K-1 Visas are too narrow.

Also, you need to get some people with large audiences to participate. If it's just a few people with a dozen followers, it's going to fail. Basically, you need a coordinated strategy with cooperation from influential Twitter accounts.

USCIS doesn't give a damn about people tagging them on Twitter and Facebook. They won't reply at all unless people start posting their personal info like receipt numbers and they reply by telling them not to post sensitive information and will delete the prior post.

Find journalists who have written on the issue before and contact them. When my petition was pending I also tried tweeting and direct tweeting but no luck.

You can also try tweeting at US embassies in your home countries.
