  1. That's understandable. With all things considered, I still feel it is best for her to move to us, and she agrees. Can anyone answer my question about which office handles the applications for parents? Is it state dependent?
  2. Sorry for the delayed reply I haven't been on VJ for awhile. This is great news, thank you. Do all applications get sent to the NVC or does it depend on where you file from? Yay! When are you filing?
  3. Thank you all of the replies! How long is the current processing time for parents? How do I know which service center the application will be sent to following submission? Is it random or based on the state I live in?
  4. Thank you for the congratulations! Yup, I was very blessed during the K1 part of our visa journey, it was super speedy and received a lot of heat on VJ as a result, to the point where I had to take a break because I got so many unkind private messages
  5. Thank you all for the congratulations!
  6. My 2 year GC was approved in November 2015 but I did not receive it until January 2016. Therefore I was eligible to apply for N-400 in August 2018
  7. I became a US Citizen last month and would like to bring my Mom to the US. I am not sure where to start as most information seems to be about bringing a spouse or child. Is there an instruction guide specifically for this? How long is the current processing times? Can anyone point me in the direction of resources? Thank you in advance.
  8. Hi all, I haven't been on this forum in quite some time but this is where I got the most support back in my K1 visa days so I felt it was fitting to return today and share that we are DONE with our immigration journey! I had my N400 interview on 2/6 and they asked me to return two hours later for my oath ceremony. I wanted to let you all know, whatever stage of the journey you are at, that despite how stressful and frustrating this process is, it is so worth it when you attend that oath ceremony and hear everyones stories from such a vast range of different countries. It was such an emotional day for me. Anyway, I wish you all, all the luck in the world! Thank you to the VJ community for being a part of our journey! I couldn't have done it without you all and I made some friends for life on this forum!
  9. I had my N400 interview on the 6th and was approved and asked to return two hours later for my oath ceremony. I get home and receive an email stating my I-751 was approved and my card was in production 😂
  10. Haven't posted in forever but anyway, I'm back! Two weeks ago, in the same week I got a letter saying my i-751 case had been transferred (to MO) and a letter saying my N400 interview is scheduled for February 6th at my local field office! So confusing!

  12. Had my biometrics on Thursday, it was uneventful. They gave me a booklet and audio CD regarding the naturalization test. My online case status updated shortly after and estimated completion moved from August 2019 to July 2019.
  13. This is SO helpful! Thank you! My online portal is estimating August 2019 however this timeline indicates most people are processed through my local office in 5-6 months...
