Someone who recently received a case number at NVC: what was your received date --- what dates are they working on?

Mine was received on 12/22 and today (1/19) is the 29th day.... I'm going to call on Wed (1/21) but I have a feeling that they are going to delay this step until 1/ 25th or 26th.

You can see in my signature but mine was received 12/12 and case # assigned last Thursday night (1/15).

10-24-14 : I-130 sent from South Africa to Chicago Lockbox

11-03-14 : NOA1, Case Transferred to California Service Center

11-24-14 : NOA2

NVC

12-12-14 : Case received by NVC

01-15-15 : Case # Assigned

01-15-15: DS-261 completed

01-20-15: AOS fee invoiced & paid

01-21-15: Mailed AOS & IV Packages

01-22-15: ORIGINAL SCAN DATE- both packages

01-23-15: Sent corrected AOS - caught my own mistake

02-11-15: IV bill invoiced & paid

02-14-15: DS-260 completed

04-01-15: Case Complete

04-16-15: P4 e-mail

05-14-15: Interview Date

05-25--15 : POE, time to MOVE!!!!

Removal of Conditions

My wife's was received at NVC yesterday, so I'm going to be calling about once every week for the first 2-4 weeks, and then probably more frequently.

Hello everyone,

My case was transferred to NVC on March 25th. I called today and I was told they receive my petitions on March 30th and I should wait for 42days to get my case number.... Do I have to wait that long before getting the case number?

No you don't. You can start calling now if you want. It seems to take most people 1 or 2 weeks to get their case number after NVC receives their case.

Cateogory: CR1

  • NOA1/Notice of receipt: Sept. 15, 2015
  • NOA2/I130 Approved: February 8, 2016 (NO RFE) :)
  • Process slowed down by us
  • Sent documents to NVC: April 11, 2016
  • Scan date: April 14/ May 7th (NVC said both I dont know why)
  • Case Complete: May 31, 2016 (No checklist) :dancing:

August 17, 2016: Visa Approved!!!! :dancing:

Hello. I want to join this coversation also cause I also filed my petition for my mom September 13, 2017, got approved March 31,  2018 And NVC received my case the other day, April 18, 2018. I called them today and they told me they didn’t enter yet in their system, they also said it may take up to 8 weeks (I hope it’s not, because that’s a long wait). Is there anyone here, already got their case number? How long did you wait for it after they received it? Thank you!
