So - I got my RFE notice on April 30th and the letter arrived today. They want Proof of Intent to Marry. I'm shaking my head lol - I'm glad its easy, but with the initial packet we sent signed letters (2-one for me and one for Michael), contract with venue for date, contract with photographer for date, contract with DJ for date, and all proof of payments LOL.

M will send me new letter overnight tomorrow, so I should get it on Wednesday so it can be overnighted and sent back. They should receive by end of the week.

I'm really glad its something simple, but I'm also really annoyed because it's just delaying the process more.

Happy for you, Im the beneficiary and I sent the letter of intent to mary this morning to my fiance (NJ) in case its what they want from us.

Thanks! I was actually surprised the letter was here already. I was talking with M today, and he was actually going to send out another letter tomorrow so that I would have it just in case anyway. I'll resubmit copies of my contracts, along with any new ones since then. Also, we did send some save the dates, and I have extra, so I'm thinking of including that because it does say "announcements".

Hoping to have everything back to them by Friday of this week.

Wow kaisara, incredible to think that they might have lost your original intent to marry documents! I dunno how that happens. And hell you submitted more than I did. Due to expenses related to a foreign pregnancy we will just do a courthouse thing first, with the fancy stuff coming later. So I didn't have any of those receipts and contracts that you mentioned. Point being that you went above and beyond what is strictly necessary. I dunno. Do you still have copies of your original submission? Do those copies show your respective letters of intent? Just curious.

Anyway, yeah, glad it's something simple. Stay on it and get it back to them ASAP. Keep us posted, I'm watching and praying for you and all September types!

5/15/15 - Electronic version arrived at the embassy (2 days)

6/4/15 - Status changed to AP (which meant that we could schedule the interview)

Boy.. They must've taken a really liking to our case. I can only assume that they are performing an extremely deep and thorough investigation of who my mother is. I wouldn't be surprised if they forwarded it to the C.I.A, CSIS (Canada's), and hell why not, MI5 just to be really sure we're not gonna star in the next "The Americans" t.v show. (Awesome show though). Residue sampling and chemical tests on every sheet of paper, psychoanalytical observation of handwriting and facial recognition of the photos can all be expected too. All of that, mind you, is the preliminary investigation. Gods know what they've done (or are doing with our case). I wouldn't fancy receiving a RFE, but at this point an email saying "You Exist. We know." would suffice. 333 days and counting.

Just a little correction, 233* days. Hahaha, if it were over 300 I'd get a straightjacket and voluntarily lock myself up in an asylum

This made me seriously laugh. The sad truth is in all likelihood they aren't doing anything with your file but letting it collect dust.
