I've been quiet in this thread but just wanted to post that we've been approved. No email yet but it was updated on the website. Approval date of May 1.

We've been lucky in this process as I live with my fiance in Warsaw so the wait hasn't been on our mind much but we were starting to get a bit nervous for our tentative September 12 wedding. Now on to the NVC!

Quick question, what are the next steps I should be taking? Am I supposed to call the NVC next week to try and get a new case number or something?

TSC will send you case to NVC - this takes a few days to a few weeks. They will update the website to say they have done so. After that message, you can call NVC - give it 1-2 weeks for the case number.

Great thanks. Hopefully they send it quickly given how long the approval process took. I thought I saw someone here say NVC told them they're expediting K1 applications due to the long wait at TSC. Hopefully that's true. From what I've been able to tell the Warsaw embassy usually has short waits for the interview so I'd really like to have this wrapped up by the end of June as we have plans to leave Warsaw and do a bit of travel around SOuthern Poland, Czech Rep, and Germany in lieu of a proper honeymoon.

I really can't understand their processing system...I mean, it really would not be that difficult to at least "sort of" process petitions in order. For a few months processing has been all over the place to a degree that cannot be explained anymore by different background check timeframes.

Basically, yeah. I am trying to figure out what the hell kind of system this might be...

"Early" approvals of Nov/Dec while leaving Sept/Oct and some Aug languishing won't allow them to advance the processing date significantly - they'd be inundated with service request. Hence, their deliverable (not as if anyone takes them to task on it...) of processing within 5 months slips further and further away.

I just don't get it.

That's what makes little sense to me as well. They aren't doing it to make their numbers better, I don't believe that at all. I doubt their stats change more than a week when they update them again. I'm certain that they will never make it a 5 month mark like the CSC. I'm entirely at a loss at how they figure out what they are doing over there.

If the petitions in a box thing is true, I imagine they go into a big room, close their eyes, and just randomly choose a box. Nothing else makes sense...

It depends on how you send it. If you send it USPS Priorty mail, UPS, DHL, or Fedex you send it to the second address. If you send it via regular mail with a stamp or two, you send it to the first address. It is highly recommended you use USPS Priorty mail or one of the couriers and send it to the second address. THen you have a tracking number and delivery verification.

Well back on April 13th, when the new processing time came out, my fiancé and I (sneakily) reasoned that technically... we could have sent in the petition late August with an arrival date of September 11th. When you fill out a service request, they ask you when you sent your petition in, and if unknown, a whole month is fine. So we put 08/01/14 as to say that we weren't 100% sure. Anyhow, our status still says:

As of April 13, 2015, your inquiry about why your case is taking longer than our processing time, referral number SRblablablaTSC, is currently not assigned for processing.

Surprise surprise that 3 weeks later they haven't even bothered to check their service request. Hoping that the new processing time will roll over within the weekend so we can call and legit complain that no one has looked at our service request haha

You both need to write a short letter that says you intent to marry the other person within 90 days of the foreigner entering the US on a K1 visa. A sample can be found in the K1 visa guide on this website.
