I've asked this of Canadians before and they seem insulted for some odd reason but I'll ask you because I know you wont bite my head off :D

Don't they teach children in Canadian schools that Canada is part of America? By America I mean the continent. America is one continent not two as they love to say in the USA, and it encompasses Canada, USA, Central America, Caribbean and South America. All people with in this group are American by birth since it is NOT a country but a continent. It always dumbfounds me to realize so many people are unaware of this fact. Olympic flag has 5 circles not 6,7 or 8. Makes me laugh when people add continents, I often wonder why they do that. Really odd I think, just my pet peeve. :D (L) (L)

They should have hot water bottles at your pharmacy and yeah e-bay will do if you can't find it close to you. :D They work beautifully and keep you nice and warm.

North America and South America are two different continents.

Then that only pertains to Canada and the USA I guess. The rest of us are and do consider ourselves Americans because we are. :DWith all due respect the analogy about Brazilian's and Colombian's has nothing to do with this. America is a continent not a country and just because the USA has America in it's name doesn't make them more American than everyone else in America there is no Americas there is only one. :D

Sorry... but you are wrong here.....

North America is comprised of only three countries - Canada, USA, and Mexico. Just because someone was born in North America does NOT make them American. Only those born (or naturalized) to the US are American.

You would not call someone from India an Asian just because India is a country within the continent of Asia. Please check your information.

HAHAHAHA! My husband tells me that all the time. "We are all AMERICANS!" He says we don't have a real country name, just a state of being!

He likes to call us Usanians ;)

I think the question has to do with perspective. I know people from the UK, USA, Canada who refer to people from the USA as Americans, but I know people from Spain who refer to people from "The Americas" (North, South, Central) as Americans (including people like my husband from Chile). My husband is also very adamant that there are 5 continents, although I know that is not what we are taught here in the USA!

But.... the truth is... Liz (Queen Elizabeth II from England) owns Canada.:rofl::rofl:

Hi friends,

I have just returned from a three day holiday away with the children and 12 of our friends. Went into the outback of Australia and had a wonderful time. We were staying along the river. My son spent most of the time fishing but we all did a great hike on Saturday. Ate and drank too much and am now back home and counting the hours until bedtime.

On a positive front it is fantastic to see so many of my friends with interview dates. Congratulations.

Congratulations also on the CC. I see we have a CC from 14th August. Hope the momentum keeps up and they get to the 29th soon.

Let's hope for a good week.

I honestly don't know where I can buy a hot water bottle. I'm sure I can buy it on eBay.:rofl::rofl:

Of course I did :D he was freezing and heating bills add up! I bought him a silicone one from Amazon.

I'm getting psyched up for a CC this week so I hope I'm not disappointed.

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.
