You seriously got it in just a month? How unusual is this? I got my NOA1 on July 21 and I haven't heard anything yet. This is especially surprising given the number of posts right above yours from people who got their NOA1 in April and still haven't heard anything.

I replied to your PM but for the benefit of others, the one thing that we can think of that may differentiate our petition versus others is that we have a child. However, I have heard that this only increases your likelihood of your petition being approved as opposed to a quicker approval.

We were definitely surprised as we did not expect such a quick turnaround.

I do note that a couple of others on this board who filed in late June also received their approval so there seems to be some cases that just receives a quicker approval.

It is possible they are filing from the Phillippines, or one spouse is there. I am not really sure the reason why, but people filing from there usually get approved almost instantly. I recieved my NOA1 June 1st and still nothing, hopefully only 2 more months to go. :)

We petitioned through normal channels.

We are not DCF applicants...I, the US citizen, am not located in the Philippines and did not apply at the consulate there.

We petitioned through normal channels.

Then definitely consider yourself one of the lucky ones, congrats! :) I just know that if the spouse or petitioner is from the Philippines, living in the Philippines or affiliated with that country, their cases usually get approved beyond quick. Not much wait time at all. Good luck on your next step of this journey!

It does not matter if you file DCF. The visa process for the Philippines in General is faster then process from another country. The USCIS was auto expediting petitions from there because of the big typhoon they had. I do not know if they are still auto expediting petitions fast from there because of that or not. However if you look at the time frames for Philippines filers. You will notice that for most the time frame is still generally faster then other countries.

Having a child will not have no affect on the processing time. It may help prove the relationship.

Your petition was approve fast because you are from the Philippines.

Can someone tell me what is going on at Nabraska? Why is it that estimated tracker is saying that they are working on March 24th cases. Are visa journey members updating their timeline? Please update your timeline so that we can help those that are waiting and also to give us all faith.

PD July 17th, case forwarded to Nebraska! Ill have to admit I was very disappointed to find out we didn't get routed to California :cry:

To anyone filing for an Indian spouse, how is your case moving along? From what I've been seeing, people filing for Indian spouses have been waiting the whole 5 months, which is disappointing ):

I miss my husband USCIS, lets go!

March 11th 2015: We got married! (L)

July 15th 2015: I-130 petition sent to Chicago filing center

July 17th 2015: NOA1, petition forwarded to Nebraska

July 21st 2015: NOA1 Hard copy received

January 5th 2016: Petition approved!

January 14 2016: NOA2 hardcopy received

January 14th 2016: Case sent to Dept. of State

February 2nd 2016 : received NVC welcome letter along with case and invoice number

May 11, 2016: DS-261 completed and AOS fee paid

May 19th 2016: Immigrant visa fee paid

July 6th 2016: DS-260 completed

Any Nebraska Filers in April, get approval notice yet? My date is 4/6/2015. Still haven't heard anything. I called and was notified there is a back log and they are processing 2/10/2015
