Honestly, I think you are going to have to find a way without an expedite. My mother worked full time, did her PhD at a top school, and was a single mother was I was about that age. She also had migraines. That is perfectly within the range of standard for American single parents.

Financial expedites work for ppl with successful business and

employees who will lose jobs if they don't get other party soon

to help with matters at hand....That's one scenario, regular financial

hardship will not qualify with U the USC having ex and extended family here

but yes no harm in trying

I'm not sure what USCIS means by financial loss but here is my situation:

I'm taking graduate classes at a University and have two more classes left including my thesis. I got divorced last year and kept our two years old son with me and since then I don't have time to do my school work because I also work full time. As a result, if I don't finish my program in the next 12 months I will be kicked out of school after spending nearly $40,000 on tutions and fees. I really need my wife here to help with chords, my son, and free some of my time to be able to finish my thesis. Not to mention, I also have migraine headaches and when I get them I can't rest because I don't have anyone to watch my son.

I'm asking because like I said I'm not sure what considers extreme financial loss.

You mentioned that the child's mother wants your son to be in the states., so maybe she doesn't live in the states and can't help? I'm trying to think of options for you to help with your stress. One is to apply for an expedite. The worst that could happen is they deny the request. If approved, you'll still have the stress of a wait albeit for a shorter time.

A few years ago I was the.single "mom" to a six month foster child and his 10 year old sister. It was so hard. The thing that saved me was a horde of friends and family. Maybe you have some friends or support group that could relieve you for a few hours. Just those few hours were a help. With a young one there might be less opportunities to find weekend events where kids can go for a few hours,but maybe. You don't like the nanny services you tried, but there might be a neighborhood kid who babysits. Sometimes relief for an hour or two can be immensely helpful. It won't solve everything, but it could relieve some stress.

If I were you, I will give it a shot under financial hardship. You wouldnt know the outcome if you wont give it a try. Good if it work and "at least you tried" if it will be denied. Goodluck.

Thank you all for the responses. What is the best way to apply for an expedite? My local USCIS office is only few miles away. Should I make an info pass appointment or just mail the documents? or do I need to get help from the Senator office?

If you could get the DHS Ombudsman or a member of the House or Senate to submit this expedite for you, it would work wonders. But you do need to have each of these things documented, so much as to going to a doctor to diagnose the migraines. I had my case expedited through USCIS under the financial hardship when my foreign lease ended and funds were very tight to start another. Do what you can, it can't hurt you to try! But I'd take some advice from visaqueries because you will still need something more instant. After USCIS comes another slow beast called the NVC...

Does it matter? Why are you giving him such a hard time? Everyone has already told him the likelihood of getting an expedite isn't very good, but there is certainly no harm in trying.
