CR-1 Visa Denied!!!

My wife just had her interview last week in Ethiopia and was denied. She actually had two interviews the first one she took wedding photos, receipts for money I wired her, and a call history from Rebtel. The consular said that the Rebtel call history was not good because it just showed her name and not her number so he told her to go get her cell phone call history and she did but he said that she hardly made any calls to me and because of that the marriage was not real. But virtually all the calls between me and my wife were made by me because it cheaper for me to call her than her call me. And I would call her several times a week. And If for some reason a week past and I did not call her she would miss call me and I would call her. He denied her a visa and gave her a letter which I attached. Does anyone have any advice of what I should do next or expect, because this is really hurting us both so much.

What other relationship evidence was provided? Did you make only the one visit? No matter what else you do, it's time to have your spouse write a detailed report of the interview including the questions asked AND her answers. She should make it as detailed and accurate as she possibly can from the time she first spoke to somebody inside, until she walked out, both times.

The file is being sent back with a recommendation to revoke which means one of the following will happen:

• USCIS will simply reaffirm their original approval of the petition and send it back to the Embassy (via the NVC) for another interview.
• USCIS will agree with the recommendation and send you a Notice of Intent to Revoke (NOIR).

If you receive an NOIR, the notice will specifically state the reason(s) why it was being sent; you will then have an opportunity to send a rebuttal. Your rebuttal will have to be received by the deadline stated on the notice AND it will need to address the reasons why the notice was sent. Failure to respond properly to an NOIR will result in the approval of the petition being revoked.

Secondly, a proper response to an NOIR does not guarantee reaffirmation of the original approval and reaffirmation does not guarantee a visa will ultimately be issued.

The petition will be returned and reviewed. It will probably be about 6 months. Expect a notice of intent to revoke. You will only have about a month to respond to this are the WILL not send an RFE if your response isn't good enough. Start preparing your general response now about how your relationship is valid. Gather evidence , lay out the proof.

Additionally, since you made most of the calls to your spouse, why didn't you provide your phone records for her to take to her interview? My apologies if this was done.

Is it normal for consulates to not like phone calls being made solely by one of the spouses? Does that count for skype as well?

No and no. There's really not a problem with ALL the phone calls being initiated by one party. Consular Officers have family and friends back home too. They know how phone contact works best with the USA.

No and no. There's really not a problem with ALL the phone calls being initiated by one party. Consular Officers have family and friends back home too. They know how phone contact works best with the USA.

Hmm, alright. If that's the case I guess I'm confused why the OP was denied. I asked earlier because in the evidence my wife and I submitted with her I-130 there was a log of all of our skype calls and the majority of the time I initiated the calls with her, rather than the other way around. So when I read the OP's post I became a little concerned.

i didn't have outgoing international calling on my phone (Sprint), but i was able to receive international calls from my wife... i think most consular officers understand things like this if you explain the circumstances
