So sad that USA immigration is such a joke

It's allegedly a privilege and not a right BUT I just wished that the process was as streamlined and as transparent as getting a drivers license which is another privilege.

I had a NVC checklist for writing $XX,YXX instead of $XX,XXX on my I-864EZ and that will cause God knows how many weeks delay. I'm more pissed at myself for the silly mistake but pissed a little bit that they would return it for something that silly even-though they have original IRS transcript that shows the correct figure. It took my petition almost two months to get to NVC from USCIS, that is just maddening.

This last two weeks have been the most difficult for me, which is surprising to me seeing that it's been an almost two years journey and I'm already at NVC.

As I don't own a house, I can't go and start painting rooms or plant a garden so I bought another classic car to restore. I am hoping that this will help keep me off of the ledge.

Good luck to all of us on this very interesting journey.

It doesn't get any better at the Embassy either. Or file is on hold because they wanted a copy of my passport showing the visa and stamps from my Trips to Turkey. Tickets, boarding passes, and pictures were not enough. But of course this is not on the list of required items to bring.

To think this sometimes is the first government experience that people from all over the World experience just to be happy or a family in America!! WOW The whole immigration system is a joke, and a disgrace. There's no consistency, no humanity, forget compassion or understanding. Your just a greenback and a number.

Don't get me wrong, I have long overcome my lack of patience with this system. Because if I hadn't I would have gone cuckoo with this process. In the beginning I think I did a little. LOL. ( 3 years running) This by far has been the roughest, most taxing, trial that I have ever been through. Giving up careers, children, family, money... all for the American Dream of, Marriage 2.5 kids a dog and a white picket fence... HA!

The biggest shame.. and disgrace.. is this is what the country was made from!! Immigration!! But to think about the mounds of paperwork that immigration has to go through...and to have no rime or reason to THIS system is scary. How in the world can they keep out who they want to? Or let in who they should? When they have no idea where your file is? Who has it? How long it will take for someone to look at it? AGAIN.... How can they keep out who THEY SHOULD?!?!?

Cause that's the whole point! Right? Keep us safe? Keep out the Bad guys/people? ... LOCKS ONLY KEEP OUT GOOD PEOPLE!! Honest People!! Bad people.. don't use locks! What a joke.

Then to hear/ read all the stories about.. ohhhh.. She was "one hell of an actress". or. "he used me to come"..( I know... cause I was one of them years ago) Divorce.. shortly after Greencard stories. sigh... People barely knowing each other and getting married .. to divorce shortly after getting here. What a mess!.

I personally have one hell of a back story! Speaking from experience at the Stress that this process puts people threw.

I voted for the current president cause I truly hoped that... this immigration system would get better. HA! I feel so bad for ALL OF US... No matter what the story is, no matter what the situation is... GOOD BAD UGLY AND LONG!! I FEEL SO SORRY for all the HEARTBREAK that everyone is going through. Again...So sad that USA immigration is such a joke.. and FAMILY and HAPPINESS can be truly shattered. A Shame to think this sometimes is the first government experience that people from all over the World experience just to be happy or a family in America!! WOW

We were married a few months apart 9/18/2010 for me. I feel your pain actually alot of us do. Me and my husband have been together almost 8 yrs, almodt 3 yrs married. Our son will be 2 in november. I thought at this level i would be calm, but its even more stressful. You have to try to remember to cross All Ts and dot All Is. Even then there still can be issues. On my i130 form i accidentally put my employer for question 15 instead of my husbands, hes the beneficiary. Now im worried ill get binged for that. Im sure i have a few gray hairs behind this. Then its a ####### shoot when calling because the IOs give different answers if they attempt to truly answer your question in the first place. Smh

How do you think a veteran of a foreign war feels, crime free, paid a bundle of taxes, and a born in the USA sponsoring citizen, when interviewed by a naturalized immigrant, that can barely speak English from a country that was a former enemy of the USA, that is constantly accusing you of fraud?

Want to kill that SOB, but instead have to be nice, just because you found that woman beyond your most wildested dreams that was born across the border. Then this AH thinks he is some kind of god. Could pick up that little sucker with one hand by the neck and pound some sense into his little brain. But can't do that, that little SOB has been given the power of your entire future!

Ombama was the lesser of two evils, very disappointed in him, stil showing a far greater interest in other countries in lieu of this one. Never responded to my letter, why are we charging huge tariffs to our allies, but charging zero tariffs, even negative tariffs, to these Asian countries that not only killed two of my uncles, but killed a lot of other Americans as well.

Doesn't make any sense. Former director of the newly formed USCIS, now under Homeland Security as well as the DOS, was Emilio Gonzales, a Cuban refugee that help Bush get elected. Guy can't even speak English, but redid all the forms. And we wonder why we have problems. Took the American Board of Immigration Attorneys to get rid of him, followed by three acting directors that didn't do anything, except act.

As the current president tries to turn this into the United States of illegals we struggle to bring family members against the stupidity of consulate officers that deny for the silliest reasons. ( my own denial was unique in stupidity ) We need to be able to confront this stupid yet sanctioned behavior of our appointed officers. To have to wait months only to be reaffirmed , expired or out of desperation marrying and filing / waiting all over again. I think it is terrible that immigration reform is rewarding law breakers without making them serve the bans they have deserved.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

It must be hard for you! I'm so sorry :( even when I went through an immigration process myself and it was pretty quick, I understand how depressing and exhausting can be this journey. Now a year later and with a baby on the way I can imagine be apart from him and not been able to raise our baby as a family. My only advice to you it's pray hard. I don't know your religious background but we all have God. In my darkest moment I found relief in the promise that He will bring me here to be with my love and He did. Sometimes, God's answer is "yes" or "not yet". But He will always wants the best for us. I hope you guys make it succesfully, and picture yourself happy with your family together :) god bless you dear

We fully understand your comments. My Fiancee who is from Mexico has been in the US for a number of years under her TN visa. We met as the company she worked for and the company I work for do business together. We met almost 7 years ago and started dating a year later and got engaged last July. The company she worked for under her TN visa was sold almost two years ago and of course she went back to Mexico. Since the cost of air travel from Atlanta to Mexico City is very cheap (as low as $350 sometimes) we have been able to travel to see each other. She also has a travel visa so she has no problem entering the US. Getting the travel visa is a different story! I know fraud goes on in different cases but we have a clear cut/documented relationship and still have to jump through hoops. She is scheduled for her interview in Ciudad Juarez in a few weeks. Of course more money to spend for her to fly from Mexico City to Cuidad Juarez plus hotel, medical, etc. AOS will be one more expense after we get married and the dollars keep coming. I am a former United States Marine Corps Viet Nam era veteran that served my country and this is the thanks I get. My family is not native American Indian so we are all immigrates. During this whole process (that is still going on) it is so hard not to worry that some person has the power to say no you cannot marry the lady you love and want to spend the rest of your life with. It appears to me this visa process is nothing more than the US seeing us all as some number or form and not the real people we are.

I just think that it's asinine the money that is spent to KEEP OUT!!

I understand there is a real threat out there, I understand that this also may be an avenue for terrorism. I truly doubt it.. and if it is? Then "they" better get there organization under control.. because there is NO WAY.. "they" .. who ever "they" are can say that this is a organized system to properly keep out the BAD GUYS!! LOL. The REAL threat! Our files are in a basket.. who knows what basket? Paper files in a Basket!! Really..??

I just think that .. someone needs to figure out that we are GLOBAL!! The internet has exploded the possibilities of meeting people all over the world. We claim "the USA" to be so big for our Pants.. that we are leading the way, to something!! What I see is that we are leading the way to Broke people.... and Broken families, single parents, and orphaned children. Whether it's to our jobs.. to pay more and more to the government that's devas tingly unorganized and way over paid.

I guess the real question is why your husband was deported in the first place?

It doesn't matter and shouldn't matter.

If he is qualified to immigrate then it should be done as efficiently as possible. If not then publish a clear cut and irrefutable guideline so folks don't waste their time and money.
