I AM NOT THAT GUY

What do you think Romney and the Republican controlled House and Senate should work on first?

Kill the Dream Act, cut back on welfare, mandatory drug testing for all welfare recipients, open up ANWR for drilling, push the Keystone Pipeline Project, punish businesses that hire illegals, and push for mandatory voter ID laws for starters.
You forgot #1: repeal 0bummercare.
build... a wall along with southern border that rivals the Great China Wall. Build it a half mile back from the border, mine that half mile from the wall to the border, make the wall 40' high and 12' thick so you can run vehicles on it and reinforce it with titanium steel rods that run 40' in the ground so you eliminate any tunnels.
I'd change this to: Return all lands seized for the current wall from private owners with an abject apology and an offer to purchase the land back at 4x market value. If the owners decline, populate the areas with CBP agents who are eminently careful to do their duties without interfering with the ownership of or lawful activities on private property.

Absolutely let the Feds build your wall, or a higher one, on Federal land. However, how dare they seize private property for any purpose?

---

Oh, si man: The I-812 applications from the spawn of illegals should be used to track down the illegals and their spawn for priority deportation. At minimum, the I-812 program should be revised to say, "Kid, if you want a work permit, your parents must surrender themselves for immediate deportation."

+1. Add that to the list.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Yes, please make spending tax dollars on a giant wall a priority. That is absolutely the most important item on the agenda for the newly elected government.

Maybe they could just build a giant toilet instead? That way we could cut out the middle man and just start flushing money away directly.

I think first they would need to figure out what Rmoney really stands for and what it is that he wants to actually do. Then again, Rmoney will go back to renovating his California home so there won't be any need to figure that out.

Raise taxes on the middle class

Sort of, yes. Many in the middle class pay no income tax at all. A family of four with one child in college is going to need to make an AWFUL LOT Of money before they pay any tax. A family of 4 with a household gross income of $90,000 could easily end up with an earned income tax credit! $90,000 minus home mortgage deduction and other itemized deductions, minus child tax credit, minus college tuition credits, minus 401K deductions...they end up below the limit for an EITC and get back more than they paid in!

A TRUE flat tax or the FAIR TAX is what the country needs.

VERMONT! I Reject Your Reality...and Substitute My Own!

Nonsense.

A family of four having more than 47,162.00 of earned and/or ajusted gross income and/or more than $3,200.00 of investment income does not qualify for the EITC for tax year 2012. For 2011, the figures were $46,044.00 and $3,150.00, respectively.

Preview of 2012 Tax Year

Earned Income and adjusted gross income (AGI) must each be less than:

$45,060 ($50,270 married filing jointly) with three or more qualifying children

$41,952 ($47,162 married filing jointly) with two qualifying children

$36,920 ($42,130 married filing jointly) with one qualifying child

$13,980 ($19,190 married filing jointly) with no qualifying children

AGI, alas, is what trips up most folk.

If you were helping out with I-864 and I-134s in the upper forums, you'd know how it works .

Gary's listed the major thingies that adjust gross income during tax season.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

For EITC AGI and Earned Income each must be below these limits.

What will they work on, as opposed to should? Given their track record, it will probably have to do with lady parts and/or pregnancy (pre-birth only).

They'll do more after then, but it hasn't stopped them to date. One of the first bills will be about ladyparts, just like in 2011.
