Thanks for asking about my son. As soon as he was born, they put a long tube down his throat and sucked everything out. I have it on video and it was much scarier in retrospect than while it was happening. There was no "baby cry" right away.

Today, he's a very healthy normal 24 year old college grad, looking for work!

I tried to Intubate that baby girl but unfortunatly i couldn't. She was to small and had a very anterior airway. I would have tried to suction as much i could but gladly we were able to oxygenate her just fine with the infant BVM. I am glad that your son is healty and normal! I know that must have been terrifying for you, it would have been for me to.

Darren what the Frick man!! Tell us about her!!

Its actually a popular name in the Philippines.. I went to school with 3 girls named Princess. I never realized it was even odd here in the US until I moved here.

Ohhh. I just feel bad 'cause that's my dogs' nicknames... I can't imagine calling a child that after calling my dogs that :D I like the "Rose" though

Our journey together on this earth has come to an end.

I will see you one day again, my love.

It will be 2-3 days at the hospital...at least. I never brought any computer or anything with me...never even thought of that. these days are all about baby and mommy and the heck with anything or anybody else.

sorry haven't posted on the forum in the last couple of days.... been really busy... posted a lot of photos in facebook account. (also taking my last 2 college courses for degree so have a lot of work to do each week.)

baby was born at 15:52 MST Thursday July 5.

Princess Rose is 8 pounds, 12 ounces (10% of what Gretchen weighed when entering the USA)

Length is 22.75 inches, head is 14 inches, chest is 14.75 inches. complexion was 8.8 (due to bruising/stork bites). Baby has bruises at top of head from trying to get out. Baby did swallow amniotic fluid and possibly some meconium but nothing serious. They cleaned out tummy after birth.

Gretchen and baby are doing good. Gretchen is up and walking around. She had some pinakbet and mango juice for dinner Friday night. Gretchen is much, much smaller now, almost looks like no pregnancy at all. Her cousin is coming to help out for a couple of weeks. My oldest son is staying the night tonight with us in the hospital. Monday, baby and Gretchen go home. Taking our time and not rushing. they tried normal birth but baby was just way, way, way too big.

Other news is we have Gretchen's EAD and AP. they came in the mail today. AOS interview is in 10 days.

Everyone is excited. I have not slept much since helping Gretchen through this whole process. Gretchen wants so much to please me, but the hospital is concerned over me possibly being dominant over her. So trying my best to explain to Gretchen then encouraging Gretchen trying to let her make her own decisions. It is not easy. Everything is completely strange to her in this whole process. I have been explaining to the nurses and thankfully we have had a few Filipina nurses as well who have helped out in talking with her.
