Hiring more temps = spending more money! Not going to happen, not to mention that DHS & USCIS don't hire temps, only vetted citizens who get security clearance to work for those departments. Those employees aren't working for minimum wage. Plus, who wants a 19 year old temp handling their application?!?!!

It's always frustrating waiting, especially when the wait is longer than the estimate. However, processing foreign visa applications isn't exactly of the highest priority & is never going to be staffed at a level commensurate with the demand. It's the price that all of us pay by choosing to marry a non-American. Still worth it though

Hang in there!

When I applied I did not know the wait would be longer than 5 months for the first step of the process. I also did not know about this site until just recently this month of april.

Upon initiating the petition I was told it would take up to 5 months, therefore I gave them the benefit of the doubt that it would be processed within that timeframe, which is very reasonable. If they are bogged down they need to hire more temps to shuffle papers and more administrative judges on a pro tem basis so they can clear up the backlog!

I bother calling often and demand to know what is going on because I want to be together with my wife and our lives hang in the balance. I have every right to be concerned and responsible for her.

Don't take this the wrong way, but you're better off calming down. The U.S. government bends for no one. We are all in the same boat. It will, unfortunately, be ready when its ready. Getting irate won't accomplish anything for you.

I'm remembering the member Al422 from a little more than a year ago.

Si, man I remember his comments from then. Some were funny and a lot were just repeated every few posts.

To the OP, I hope you get approved soon. Just make sure you have all your paperwork ready for after you get aprroved so once the embassy receives your paperwork you can send back your packet 3 and get the ball rolling to setup an interview date that might be a little ways out.

Our 5 months is almost up (4/23/12)

Today called in to check which NOA the California CS was processing for I-130 CR1 petitions and was given the date of September 10.

That's impossible given that 9/10/12 falls on a SATURDAY! Do federal govt. employees work and/or receive mail for processing on Saturdays?

This is certainly news to me. What's even more infuriating is the fact that I called 10 days ago to check the ETA and was told they were processing October! How did we go BACK IN TIME??

I was also told that BECAUSE my petition was received on 11/23/11 and given that they are only processing petitions received 9/10/11 I would have to wait 74 more days before they would get to mine.

On the USCIS website the processing times haven't changed and continue to remain as 5 months. I know this is only an estimate, but it needs to be UPDATED to reflect that the ACTUAL DELAYED processing time is 6-8 months just for the NOA2.

5 MONTHS IS LONG ENOUGH FOR JUST WAITING AROUND DOING NOTHING!!!

Even though it's hard for us all, the best thing is to Wait. It has been more than 6mos. since we received our NOA2. It's really hard to be away with our loved one but if we learn how to be patient, we'll get our reward. USCIS is also doing their best on this, and of course it isn't an easy job since they do a lot of process in just one case..So if you could imagine how many cases they handle in a day which is equivalent to a thousand more that is Pending. A little Sacrifice won't hurt.. if you truly love your wife, you should be strong enough to take this Challenge. It's really rewarding once the whole thing is over.. Once your with your wife, you get to share about this memorable experience you've both done just to be with each other. :) Just be Positive with the whole process and you'll get Positive Results:)

Can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you..

Unfortunately, every one waits, often longer than we expect. This process has little to no transparency. you may have up to 8-10 month wait. We did K-1 to in order to be together, is hind sight we should have gotten married and filed as married. I found our local congressman's employee less than interested and seemed put out by my aggressiveness and inquiry. Enjoy Skype for now, hang in there.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Hey here's some optimism today is 1 month 1 day since we filed. Wooo whooo. Just look at it this way. The more approvals you see from all over the world means we are moving up in the line. Trust me I am Queen of the impatient people. But when I see my friends who I know personally who waited 2 ,3 and 4 years to get their husbands to them. Well I can wait, don't like it. But isn't there a saying "that which is worth it is worth waiting for." Just saying.heart.gif
