Consulate Review: Bangkok, Thailand
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : June 11, 2011
Embassy Review : Pui got there at 5:45am. She was number 9 in line and was not admitted inside until 6:45am. The guards took cell phone but let her bring in her purse with makeup and water that she had brought. She said she left like she was going through air port security. While waiting she met a lady from the Philippines who was there for a k-1 as well. Here is what happened when she was interviewed.

The lady who interviewed her was in 30 - 40s. The lady greeted her in Thai. Pui said good morning in english. The lady was surprised she spoke english.

1. Why do you want to go to America?
2. Please tell me more.
she then looked at her documents.
3. How do you know each other?
4. I never heard of that website before.
5. Does your fiance have a baby?
6. He ha been married before?
7. Does Pui have a baby?
8. Has Pui been married before?
The lady then throws some documents on her side of the glass and says \"I do not need these documents\". Pui then gets mad because she thinks that is not right do that.
9. You went to the UK?
10. You have boyfriend why did you go to visit your ex-boyfriend? (Pui saw her ex-boyfriend before we knew each other, the lady must not have looked at when Pui went to the UK and when Pui and I first talked to each other. The lady then threw Pui\'s passport on her side of the glass.)
11. How long did you stay there? (Pui never overstayed her vistor visa to the UK.)
At this point Pui starts crying because the lady has given her passport back to her.
12. What does your ex-boyfriend do?
13. Is he a British citizen?
14. Why did you break up?
The lady then says \"I do not need the same documents, thanks\" and gives the documents to Pui. Pui then thinks the interview is over because she gave her documents back and has her passport back and starts to walk away. The lady then says \"Where are you going we are still interviewing!\" and she gets MAD. Pui then said \"You gave me my passport and documents and said thank you so I thought the interview was over\".
15. What does he do for a job?
16. How many times did you see each other?
17. When and how long did you spend time together?
The lady then said \"ok stop talking\" and walks to the other room.

She was given a yellow piece of paper that I think was 221(g) and said the following:

‎Please return the medical exam results to BNH hospital in the sealed envelope. Then return them to the us in the sealed envelope along with your passport.

Once Pui left embassy and I was able to call her she was very sad and thought she did bad. I told her if they are asking for that document and asking for her passport back that is good. At that point she wanted to go home. I said \"Since you are already in the heart of Bangkok go to the hospital get what they need and return to the embassy\". She said ok. She went to the hospital and the hospital had given us OLD forms when she had her medical on April 11th, 2011, less then 2 months before the interview. They transcribed the info onto the new forms. She then returned to the embassy and was told she can pick up her visa on June 13th. After she came out of the embassy for the second time that day she said \"Thank you for telling me to return to the hospital and the embassy.\" Nobody else was given their visa that day and there were 7 other people.

**************************************************************************
This part is for anybody who has a fiance or spouse who is not thai going to the Bangkok embassy. Pui met a lady from the Philippines and talked to her before their interviews and after their interviews. The same lady who interviewed Pui interviewed this lady. She was asked \"why did you come to Thailand to interview?\" and \"why do you work in Thailand?\". The lady did not seem happy she was interviewing in Thailand. She was aksed other questions but I do not know what they were. The lady from the Philippines was given a yellow paper as well. She had the same thing about the hospital about her medical was done on OLD forms but she went to Bumrungrad hospital, Pui went to BNH hospital. And it also asked for her fiance\'s 2010 tax info which the lady forgot in her bag.
**************************************************************************
Only other thing I suggest is maybe print the medical forms from the embassy\'s website and take that to your medical.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
