I "Think" you're allowed to use marker pen to censor personal information but I would suggest picking some better conversations if you have them, the consulate will almost certainly pick the ones you don't want them to read!

Don't you have any other chat messages where you didn't curse each other out? i know there is no way you will be cursing each other every time you chat all the months or years you spent together, so you might want to choose another devoid of curses all through from the hundreds if not thousands of messages you both have shared since you have been together

I think it's better for her to stick with her original signature which contains her name only.

You can censor 'mark out personal' information. All the cutesy stuff is secondary, what your trying to establish is the bona fides!

What you need to do is collect online correspondences that shows a 'timeline' of the relationship.

You cannot black out her name from letters, it will look really suspicious so you need to exclude any letters that say this otherwise they could assume you're actually married and deny your visa to make you apply for a spousal visa.

Si, man. Send nothing that's blacked out and CERTAINLY nothing that would indicate that you may be married. Select examples of correspondence that YOU want them to see.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Don't you have any that aren't like that? We submitted 3 emails each. THREE. We also submitted an email log that showed the date, time and "subject" of the emails (more than 2000) but not the text. No skype at all, we did not use it. No chat logs, we did not use it. We used email and phone calls. No questions asked at our interview. They did not even look at the email evidence at all.

I never read this to underatnd that you need to present ALL evidence of every communication you ever had. I showed that commuication existed between us throughout the period of our engagement, NOT what the communication consisted of of what each conversation was.

I read a post here once. The couple blackened some things out, and their visa was not issued on the day of the interview. Officer requested originals of the letters without any editions before he could approver. It's better to pick emails and conversations where no editing is needed. That's for one. Second thing that you really need to take care about - never-ever-ever give a reason to think that you two are married. If you choose to submit those emails with your fianceé's "not real" signature, she needs to be well prepared to explain herself to the officer. If I were in such position, I would certainly start collecting evidence that you are NOT married indeed or better yet, I would leave those letters of the package I am getting ready for the interview.

That's not good.....you're supposed to not be married yet. Pretending to be married might be construed that you are and the visa may be denied.

This is serious stuff and you both should conduct yourselves accordingly.

Yeah, I wouldn't submit conversations/letters in which you need to black material out: it makes you look like you have something to hide. The only things I censored in the documents I sent were confidential financial details such as credit card numbers, bank account numbers, and phone account PINs.
