Who did you fly with to start your new life

Collecting miles is worth it. BA don't really offer a way for the commoner to accrue miles.

Actually, anyone can join their Executive Club. I have had a couple of free flights to Atlanta from the miles I have earned on full fare flights over the last few years. Sadly, the scheme changed last November and you now have to pay the taxes.

And their booze is still free!

OMG--my first ever trip to England was on BA and the guy next to me drank his way across the Atlantic for 9 hours, asking for two bottles at a time. He even added booze to his coffee with breakfast. I was sure he was going to throw up on me at some point or pass out across my lap.

Last time I flew overseas I got AirFrance, the service was decent (sorta rude personnel at the airport, but that's not the airline) and they kept asking me "Monsieur: champagne? Cognac? Bière?").

American Airlines all the way. Nice new airplanes B777, delicious meals, personal video in each seat, even has video games. Despite the few negative reviews above, AA is the best. I fly no other.

I choose Lufthansa or Swiss. As long as you avoid B747. Stick with Airbus and you'll be happy :) I was on over 50 flights in 2011, most of them were on LH metal. Absolutely dislike American Airlines, although I only happened to fly domestically with them. United transatlantic is alright.

Cheers!

Virgin Atlantic is my airline of choice. If not virgin, Atlantic, I would fly British Airways or Cathay Pacific.

My interview is getting close now but im not sure what airline to fly with.

Ive always flown with Continental but since they merged with United i have to say imo you are paying more for less service! But i have 15k miles clocked up with them!

Ive got the option to fly with American Airlines or British Airways aswell but dont know who is the best.

Who have you all flown with back over to the states? & who do you think was the best/worst?

I liked Emirates, but not Etihad. Etihad the service was good but the plane was old. When I flew Emirates the service and the plane was good. Plus I like being able to have a touch screen, so that's why I like flying Emirates and Qatar.

I've flown a LOT over the past seven years back and forth to the US. Delta aren't actually bad long haul - somewhat comfy & not bad food, United have no leg space -.- and to be picky about it Continental have leathery seats that make you sweat for sitting so long and it's not very pleasant. I've used USAirways a lot and after sneaking to NY for My Mister's homecoming (pulled a sicky at work was only going to be there two days) and they cancelled the flight, made us all wait 5 hours in a queue after saying on the phone there's no flights available over the following few days, sent me up to Scotland for another flight that got delayed and put me on a connection to a random airport further away. Probably karma somewhat for the self proclaimed day off but the return flight was cancelled too. Lots of 'technical problems'.

KLM are a dream to fly with, the do look after their passengers ^.^

Ahh you guys have me excited for flying away in a few weeks to see My Mister :D
