Once I flew to the US with US Airways.... big mistake, never again!! It was a nightmare from start to end, I thought we were not gonna make it.

Last time I flew with BA, excellent service, personal entertainment with more stuff than you can imagine, it was a very good experience overall, except that they could have served one more meal (1 meal in 11 hours is not enough. Eating keeps you busy!)

In a few days my husband will come to go to my interview with me, and bring our cat back home with him, and for that we chose Air France: you can have your pet in the cabin with you if less than 7 kg. I've never used Air France for a transatlantic flight but for European flights only, and their service has always been outstanding. Well, when they're not on strike of course.

I won't fly with Delta anymore. They ban "pit bull" type dogs. which i have a boxer crossed with a pit bull. I think they are discriminating against dogs who only have a bad rap.

What I have learned from reading this thread.

- Almost every major airline has been mentioned as "best"

- The same airlines have been mentioned as "worst" by different other people.

- Personal experiences vary greatly.

Conclusion

- Fly with whatever airline cheapest.

I flew with United in december 2011 and they did have screens on every seat and a good selection of movies and didn`t have any problems at all. I still prefer Lufthansa though.

I flew with Kuwait, they were the cheapest for a one way flight at £281. BA/AA/Vigrin/Delta were all in the £600s for one ways, even with layovers.

Kuwait were fine, took off late from Heathrow, but got to JFK on time. Food was nicer than regular airplane food if you like curry, they even had metal cutlery.

The plane itself was a little long in the tooth, but was perfectly air worthy. Only thing I wish I had was an iPad, as the entertainment wasn't particularly entertaining...

It was just a means to an end though, as said above, just go with the cheapest/shortest journey.

Start of relationship

??/07/2008 - A random Skype message came through to me from an American girl

14/02/2009 - After months of talking, the American girl flew over to me - I knew we were meant to be

18/08/2009 - I proposed to her on Brighton Beach, UK

K1 Journey

15/07/2010 - We finally put in the i129f application - after shortly considering me going there on VWP, marrying and trying to Adjust Status, but was too risky

03/01/2011 - NOA2 on the day Dawn returned to NY after spending Christmas with me

10/02/2011 - I visited NY for 3 weeks (let this hold up the K1 process)

28/02/2011 - Medical

29/03/2011 - K1 Interview at London Embassy - Visa granted!

01/04/2011 - Visa in hand

Next Stage

03/05/2011 - POE in JFK - can't wait!

04/06/2011 - Our Wedding Day :)
