Haha, yes, we definitely did! My Mom gave him a big ol hug and everything.

Whereabouts did you live in the UK? I'm gonna take a guess and say Scotland ;P I lived in Newcastle for 2 years and would visit Scotland every so often, but it seemed like Scotland came to visit us more often than that! Lots of stag dos in Newcastle city centre, I lived right above a pub so never had a quiet weekend for 2 years straight, haha.

I lived in Aberdeen the "Granite City" for the past 12years!! But came from a small town called Keith which is 50miles north of Aberdeen. I loved living in Aberdeen there was always plenty to do. Nights out in the town was always good.. I never did get a chance to go to Newcastle. But you are right there's always the stag do's & the hennies in Newcastle never a dull moment there.. hahaha!!

We first met online 2004, but things started to get serious in Dec 2007. Made my first visit to the USA in march 2008 for 2 weeks. Then returned again in Aug 2008 for 3 months.. Then i came back to the UK for 5 months to return back to the USA April 2009 for another 3months.

Just received an email and text that my husband's green card has been ordered! I honestly thought we would have a RFE because we never had a civil surgeon transcribe his DS-3025 even though it said that it was incomplete, but thankfully it didn't matter!

3rd packet supposedly sent from London, but never received: July 5

Confirmed return of 3rd packet: August 17

Found out they never received our 3rd packet September 21

My husband received his EAD and AP in one card, but it says his country of birth is unknown... I honestly don't know how they made that mistake but I feel a little annoyed and I'm not sure what to do. We can call about it but I'm afraid we would have to wait a long time for a new EAD card. Making an infopass appointment is not really possible for us as our local USCIS office is a 5 hour drive away. That's a total of 10 hours driving. Yes we had to do that for his biometrics appointment, but I don't think we should have to do again for their mistake.

Something funny just happened...

On March 24th, I received an email saying that my EAD card has been ordered to production...Today, March 29th I receive another email saying: On March 29 your EAD card has been sent to production...

Or now I will have two EAD cards or someone forgot to send it to production on the 24th...Whatever.

Happy to read many of you are receiving the GC already! :)

Got my green card in the mail today :0) Wow I'm stoked how easy and fast this was compared to the K1 lol.

I have a doctors appointment in Fort Worth 21 April so I'm going to Social Security office the same day (couple of streets away) to get my SS number. Then all I need is my Texas drivers licence and I'm sorted.

I wish a speedy processing to those still waiting :D xox

Mailed off our AOS on Jan 25th. Thought I would join in and say congrats! to everyone that got their green cards!

Not sure how many January filers are still waiting. I am impatiently waiting, and my husband keeps telling me to relax, all is well, haha. It is probably all good. I just want him to get his EAD and/or green card already. :P

Well here's an update about my husband's EAD card, we called USCIS and they couldn't tell us if having "Unknown" on his country of birth would cause a problem or not, they said that is up to the employer. But they ordered for a new card to be made for my husband, but only if we told the guy from USCIS that we thought it would create a problem for my husband to get a job. Honestly I didn't know, but he wouldn't order a new card to be made unless we would answer yes to that question. But we didn't have to send his current EAD card back which is good, we didn't want to.

I'm glad my husband has his EAD and AP now. He applied for a few jobs already. And just yesterday we went to the DMV taking his EAD card to prove his legal status and he took the knowledge test and passed. And then he made an appointment to take the driving test, it will be next Friday. He didn't need a permit or anything since he has been driving for eight years already. :P

Uh ok, I spoke too soon. My husband just got an email from USCIS saying they couldn't fix the card and in order to do so we had to send the original EAD card back and send supporting documentation. What a bunch #######, really. They already have the forms and information when we originally sent the AOS package in the first place, we shouldn't have to send it again. That is their mistake, my husband shouldn't have to send the card back, he can't apply for jobs in meantime if we sent the card back. USCIS takes so long to do anything anyways so my husband is not going to send his EAD card back. He just worries that when he does get his GC that it will also say "Unknown" for his country of birth. I really don't know what to say about that. I guess we'll see what happens...

Sorry about double posting, I wasn't able to edit my last post anymore.

Got the emails/web updates that his EAD and AP were approved today! Not everything on April 1st is a joke, at least it better not be, hahaa

Congrats to Macaroni for the same thing :)

Sorry to hear about that Unknown mistake thing, BirdyGirl85. They should fix it without him having to send it back, BUT this is the USCIS we are talking about. Hopefully it won't matter for him getting hired. I wish you luck that the green card has it all correct.
