marrying family members for green card

My opinion is you should leave him. I would bet that his family might even have their eyes on you too. Maybe whispering to him to try to get you to go marry one of his family members also. I say drop the whole thing before you get bullied and dragged into something that can land you in prison. Ask yourself, if it's worth all the trouble?

I am in a mix of emotions. Last August my boyfriend (perm resident) went down to the country where he's from in the caribbean. His mother and sister live there. His aunt that lives in America sent him down there to marry his own sister (she used a dead person's birth certificate so her name was different) so she can get a green card because she dumped her kids on another family member in America (through adoption I'm sure) and she wants to see them. I understand, but I think it's a really immoral thing that the whole family condones the marriage between sister and brother just for a green card. My boyfriend says he knows a lot of people that did fake marriages and it's no big deal and he wants to help his family. I understand his concern but I don't like the idea of it, and I am afraid something bad might happen. Every day I'm really angry about it, but emotions aside and logistically speaking is there a chance of being caught? I'm not familiar with the process at all, but I have no good feelings about this situation, and I want to know what the risks are. I tried talking him out of it, but he keeps saying it's no big deal. He has nothing that proves their marriage is legit, no shared accounts/lands, he just wired over $100 to her name that's it. I really don't know for sure if he started filling out any immigration paperwork. I'm worried sick over this and I'm not sure if this is no big deal like he says or if there are major roadblocks or possible criminal charges that can happen? PLUS him and I live together and I cosigned a carnote and also have a joint checking account together, will they research that and find out?

Another thought for you if this is real. If you helped him at all, even in the slightest, way then you are an accomplice to fraud. Even having the knowledge and choosing to remain silent may have implications for you. I am amazed if this is real you would need to come here and ask what is right.

All the finger pointing aside, this is a rather simple matter.

Dump the boyfreind and find yourself someone that has good moral aptitude. This kind of fradulent arranagement happens all the time, and I'm sad to say that often these things go under the radar than authentic relationships. Some consulates give real couples such hard time, yet smile at crooks that know how to cheat the system.

I would like to see more crackdowns through blood tests and duration of past marriages.

A final thought is that myself, once an immigrant ( refugee for that matter ) and now a proud United States Citizen would like to see other Americans consider the future of our country. Would you want your daughters to be associated with people that accept fraudulent marriages and incest as a way of life? We, ourselves, might not support fraud or incest but if we ACCEPT as everyone else, it makes us no better than the criminals and those of moral turpitude.

As human beings we make way too many errors unknowingly, and to consciously allow this type of act to recur demeans not only our country but our purpose as a decent individual.

Bottom line is dump the loser mindset and try our best to keep our country clean for our sons and daughters.

To the original poster, it is not my call to advise you of your future, but I bestow upon you a final thought. If you marry a man of your current BF's thinking and acceptence of fraud, deceit, and lies, you will face a lifetime of challenges trying to change him to think like you. If you and him end up marrying with childten, you will want your children to life honest lives and he will think it's okay for them to defraud, cheat, and lie to fit his family needs. Is that what you want?

There's no right or wrong answer because we all have different endings.

Other option is visit visa for her for a temporary period upto 6 months. If she gets 10 years multiple entry visit visa, she can come and go as many times as she wants.

Loto

Loto – I don’t think this the case where his sister just wants to visit USA.

This is a huge thoroughly thought out scam, where bf’s sister wants to migrate to US, using a short cut.

She moved her kids to US using adoption, and now wants to migrate to US using this sham marriage.

If I would be in OP’s place then definitely would cut my ties and report this whole thing to USCIS.

I believe supporting such fraudster and not reporting them to USCIS is also a crime as well.

Ok you really need a reality check and please don't take this the wrong way. But is this really someone you want to be in a relationship with? I mean he clearly has no morals! You need some deep soul searching! Hope it works out for you.

The fact that the OP joined only yesterday and has not stated a clear intention to get

a visa for a fiancée or family member lends a certain credence to the troll argument.

Anyone can joint the site, not just those with actual visa journeys to undertake, but

the fact that this post seems to be the reason for joining does raise some flags.

The profile details of the OP are mostly unfilled.

My guess is that when they do the background check for her they will easily discover that something is not right. Either she should be dead (because she is using a dead person's name) or they won't come up with anything due to name and fals birth date not fitting together (if she used her own birth date).

There is just so much that can go wrong due to this.

I'm new to VJ and this is the most ridiculous topic I've read so far. Chances of your bf getting caught is pretty high, because as someone else who replied to this topic said they do background checks and both people, and the checks are pretty thorough. That being said if caught he will be charged with marriage fraud, will lose his residency and will be deported. I'm pretty sure you don't want to be a part of that.

The odds that this is another troll I think continue to grow. If GBAngel is for real, then her only course of action should be clear. Remove yourself from this situation as soon as possible, contact ICE with as much detail as you can give and pray that this idiot boyfriend never sees you again.

Consider what could happen if you do nothing. Assuming the fraud is detected, you could be charged with conspiracy to commit fraud against the United States of America. If the fraud is not detected, you are looking at living with two criminals in your household that have no regard for your country's laws.

Where is the good for you?

It's too outrageous to be true unless it's just a question of being amateurish.

Either way it's not good to go along with such a scenario.

As I read this post I was speaking (silently in my mind at least)

in a very thick Jamaican accent, which lends considerable weight

and authenticity to it.

Good work, mon!

Whatever the accent, VJ members are speaking with one voice on this topic.
