Consulate Review: Austria
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description

Embassy Review : The embassy is really relaxed. Just to say that for starters.

No point in showing up early, but I already knew that from my last visit there about a year ago. I took the elevator up there 15 minutes before the appointment and was the first one in line. Any electrical stuff has to be left at the reception desk and you better do what the lady says because she has a gun. Scanned my purse and headed right to window 5 to drop off my medical results and passport as well as 2 new passport pictures. The (austrian) lady took her time to carefully go through the paperwork and when she was done gave be back the x-ray envelope and told me to sit down and wait.

After about 20 minutes I was called to window 7 and a mid-30 year old man greeted me very nicely. He had me swear that everything I stated in my application is true and correct and took my fingerprints.
The he asked me when/how I met my husband, where we got married and where we are planning on living. I don't know if he tried to trick me into something when he asked me if my husband was in such and such unit when he was stationed on Hawaii but I hadn't hear of it and knew the unit he really was in anyway.
After that he just said yes yes, everything looks good and typed something on his computer and then said the magical words "your visa has been approved, congratulations." I just smiled from ear to ear and gave him a two thumbs up and said thank you.

After that I had to wait again and was called back to window 5 where the austrian lady took my phone number and told me they'd call me when the passport was finished and that I would have to come back and pick it up.

While I was waiting there was another very young consul lady doing interviews for another category and everybody got approved by her. I don't think they will give anybody a hard time on purpose if everything is in order.

No need to be overy nervous!
Rating : Very Good

POE Review: Atlanta
Event Description
Entry Date : 2010-10-22
Embassy Review : I arrived at ATL at 7PM on a Friday. Definitely a good time to immigrate. I believe only 2 other planes were at the Terminal at that time.
I felt horribly sick during the landing procedure and didn't feel better until the next morning. As I was waiting in line other people were probably afraid I would hurl up at them.^^
The first person was really nice and an excort brought me to the paper-processing room. Also no problems there at all. It probably took 20 minutes. Got my fingerprints taken and no questions asked at all.
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
