I called them and talked to an operator and she couldn't even tell me when to call again and ask.

THis sucks.

By the way. When it comes to re-scheduling an interview, do I call NVC or the Embassy?

I was hoping the embassy because ours here is really small and easy to contact...

You will have to call the embassy. Once you hear from the NVC about your interview date, you will probably have to wait a few days to make sure your case file has been forwarded to your embassy; then you can call the embassy to reschedule the interview. Hopefully, they are not busy and can accomodate you. I would also suggest your calling the embassy and asking them about the completeness of your file. I have recently seen several cases where the embassy requested additional documents after they received the applicants' files from the NVC. The NVC missed the boat on some of the requirements.

Thank you for the very thorough answer! I will have to write this down so I will remember to ask them this specific question too!

More waiting now...

I've been gone for a few days but nothing changed.

According to UPS they recieved the AoS package more than 2 weeks ago and still NVC hasn't "recieved" it.

Ds-230 has been delivered more than a week ago and nothing.

Grrrrr NVC hurry the f up!!

I already know that if they are slow and give me a september interview I will have to call and reschedule.

They took 12 regular days to have the AVR updated stating that our documents had been received. Did you try speaking to someone? I did (before AVR was updated) and operator said she could see the files were received but that it takes a bit of time for the system to update.

Totsan, Congrats. Get ready for NVC, because things go real fast at this stage. Did you give them your two emails? You can go ahead and send the choice of agent email as soon as you give out the two emails.

I have my DS-230 (IV package) all set and ready to go except for the police report. That will take 3 weeks for me to get.

What would be better:

a) send in the IV package minus the police report and when they check list it, send the police report in response to that.

Or

b) wait until the police report is here and send the IV package when it's all completed.

I got the choice of agent and AOS bill (via email)that same day I gave them the two emails.

I also sent out the choice of agent email to them that same day. It was just fine.

Have your checkbook ready because you will need it to pay your AoS fee tomorrow.

See my signature on how fast things go at this stage.

March2010, I would personally wait since NVC seems to take forever to acknowledge that they receive documents. I would hate to have to wait 2 weeks just to get an RFE a week later and then have to wait all over again for them to receive my RFE'd document.

my wife has been trying to reach NVC number...but the numbers been so busy. anybody else faced the prob?

Now just wonder, why we not able to reach the AVR..we are trying just for the case number.

and hey waiter, teya, march2010.. the AOS fee and IV fee is to be paid online, right? And for that, you need

1. credit/debit card/ online banking account

2. IIN which NVC opertaor has to provide

3. NVC Case number.

and Teya, no co-sponsor. dropped the idea of requesting that uncle. we will rely on the current income of my wife...
