Hello everybody! Welcome to the July NVC thread. Feel free to ask any questions you might have as the people in here (well, in the future anyway) have varying levels of knowledge about the NVC process. I know that personally I will be here all through July at least. I hope the rest of you who come in here don't have to be stuck here.

There are a few days left in June for those still waiting for interviews. I hope they get them!

Aww man ally and moh. I hope NVC decides to be nice to you and give you a date next week! Too bad that your embassy is backed up. I hope after all of the waiting that they don't put you in AP, that would terrible! Waiting sucks but at least we have a place to release some stress and anger without being ridiculed for feeling mad.

Considering the fact that he is a MENA man, we expect to get AP. We are hoping and praying we don't after all we have been thru already, but we are expecting it.

As for our date, if the embassy and NVC won't even respond to my congressman's office, I don't know when to expect a date. I will note though, that a lot of Jordan people HAVE gotten dates at the end of the month instead of the 2nd week. I hope this happens for us.

Pay attention, non-EP NVC noobs. Here's Christeen's time tested formula to get you through NVC in one piece alive:

Petitioner: Get NVC # + give operator your email IDs + receive AOS fee bill + pay 70$ online + wait to show paid + print cover sheet + send I-864 AOS with all documents and case # written on each page.

Beneficiary: Get NVC# + receive DS3032 + send DS3032+ DS3032 accepted + IV fee bill available to be paid + pay & wait to show paid + print IV cover sheet + mail DS230 package with all original/certified documents

= wait for case complete + wait for interview to be scheduled.

Suggestions:

1) Have the beneficiary mail SIGNED extra DS230s to you so that you have them handy in case something goes wrong. Or you get hit by a dreaded RFE.

2) If you just received your NOA2, THIS is the time to get your tax stuff and police certificates sorted out. Don't waste time on this.

3) Double check the PCC requirements in the regional forums as they are country specific.

4) Check the pinned STUPID RFEs thread in IR-1/CR-1 forum before sending in your packages.

5) Mail your DS230 package to your USC spouse as soon as you get your NOA2. That way he/she can overnight it to NVC as soon as the IV bill clears.

6) Get your taxes, employment letter, paystubs, PCCs, civil documents etc. while you wait for the NOA2.

Currently the # of business days NVC is taking:

3-4 days for NVC to receive your case and assign a case #.

3-4 days to receive emailed links after case # has been assigned and email addresses been given to NVC operator.

1-2 days for the AOS bill to show as PAID.

1-3 days for DS3032 to be accepted.

1-2 days for IV bill to be PAID.

8-11 days for case complete after all your documents have been sent in.

Folks--please make sure your official VJ timelines are up to date. Remember this is our only source of predictions. Thankyou!

NOTE:

If you want to try to move your interview to an earlier day, you MUST wait until your case is forwarded and received by your embassy. From there you must contact your embassy to request to move it. There are no guarantees.

Yeah, good one March 2010. The dates of how long it takes vary a bunch. But looking at other people's time lines from the last 3 months or so, it is more like March2010 says. Thinking that it will only take 3 days for a case number and then panicking when you don't have one is useless. A week is what to expect now. I just go by what I have read on here and stuff from LingChe and what seems right. Been fine so far.

Bextavaz isn't filing for CR1. The PD is the priority date. For other visa types, the priority date matters as to when they will give you an interview and assign you a visa. There is no real priority date for CR1. Those are always current.

If you look at his time line, you will notice it took almost 4 years to get through USCIS.

I'm sure glad it doesn't take 4 years to get through USCIS for CR1's.
