I totally agree with Teya's findings.

Besides this message that you all copy and post without anyone asking for it is kind of rude. "Pay attention, non-EP NVC noobs". Really? It sounds very condensending and impolite.

It is amazing. That is one of the great things about VJ. Free, almost-instantaneous information available at your fingertips, sometimes, even without you asking for it. And, hon, whether you like it or not, you ARE a NVC noob. Nothing to get 'offended' about. I was a 'noob' too, not too long back, and was grateful for every word of advice, tip, helpful suggestion, nugget of wisdom that I received from those who chose to stick around after their respective VJs were over. They, along with my NVC buddies, are the only reason I got through this process with an ounce of my sanity left. You clearly don't appreciate well-wishers, so henceforth, just ignore whatever I post and I'll do the same. Ya?

i know i am a nvc noob... thats why i can use all the help i can get so sachinky and others plz keep helping. thank you.

sachinky i remember back in september in our thread when u asked alots and alots of questions... hehhe so yeah everyone is a noob in the start.

Come on guys! Lets focus on helping each other. I liked the information Sachinky posted in the NVC thread while I was going through NVC process as it helped me to keep my case in track. That being said, I think we all should just focus on helping each other to reach the finish line.

More un-asked for advice for those about to POE:

POE--Immigration processing. Need Customs form, passport, visa, POE envelope. Make sure to ask if you're updated in the SAVE system before you leave.

Wait for SSN in the mail. If it doesn't come in 2 weeks time, go to the local office and apply in person with visa, passport, and marriage certificate. They will need the A#. It's the 8 digit # on your visa marked as the registration #. Preceded by a 0. It will also be handwritten at some POEs, not all.

Should receive in 7-10 days but can take longer since they have to verify A# through DHS. Give it about 14-21 days.

'Welcome Letter' SHOULD be in your mail within 3-4 weeks. If it has been more than 30 days since POE, contact USCIS.

GC should follow in 14 days after the welcome letter which you can use to track the status of your GC production.

During the process, if you the immigrant move, you will need to file the AR-11 through mail, phone or online.

Your spouse, the USC petitioner, will need to file the I865 through mail.

If you hold a CR-1 visa, you will need to file for ROC, 90 days prior to the expiry of the 2 year GC.

sachinky - You have been a great help to us and many others and many more to come. Of course there are other people on this forums who helped us as well. Without their trial and error, we wouldn't be getting through these processes so quickly. There is plenty of knowledge here and people are always read to help you. So I want to thank everyone.
