kicking.gifG & I are planning on filing next week!!!kicking.gif

The goal is by Tuesday, May 11th, which just so happens to be our 4 year & 10 month anniversary!luv.gif

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up since I'm sure I'll be posting 234 questions a day. tongue.gif

Also!! I'm feeling really good about not having a co-sponsor. My boss quit in February and I'm hoping to be offered her position soon, now that I've taken on and have a good hold on her responsibilities. But even with with my annual pay, if the poverty guidelines stay like they are, I'm only $1,000 away from the minimum. If they go up another $1,000 like the did before- I'll have more than enough in assetts to cover the difference (with the ratio of 3:1).wow.gif

I know that's not saying a lot as far as financial stability, but at least I feel there is hope now! And financial planning is soooo much easier to do without hearing a constant negative chain of thought running through your head every second saying you're going to fail miserably.

So I've got my mind right, now I've just got to put my thoughts into action!

lol.. nice!

If USCIS knew how long we've been planning on doing this, they would be the ones to ask me what took so long!! lol

I think it's actually good though for us that it won't happen right away, well, because we still have quite a bit of planning to do, money to save, etc! Plus I gotta learn how to make authentic Venezuelan cuisine ;) jeje

I was married to a Venezolana for almost 23 years. There is noo such thing as Venezuelan cuisine unless you mean an arepa with some cheese or maybe boiled beef in tomato sauce (ropa vieja) with boiled yuca.

Congratulations and good luck.

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up since I'm sure I'll be posting 234 questions a day.

Hey - Happy yer getting it done, after 4 years -

But -

Please rethink to post two-hundred and thirty-four questions each day. For many who will be reading your posts, they'll be thinking yer NOT reading the instructions for the forms, or the guides here, or even the USCIS websites.

[Just some heads up]

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I was exaggerating about the posts. I have combed through all guides, searched posts, and might as well have USCIS be my home page! I have come across questions that I couldn't clearly answer or found two contradicting answers and those will be the times you'll hear from me.

Haha, you know what... I filed on our 4 year and 10 month anniversary month... Which was March for us.

Congrats on being ready to file! Like you, my fiance and I have been researching about this fiance visa process since May of last year, and it was such a great feeling to finally finish our I-129F package and send it off in the mail.

I hope the process goes smoothly for you!

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
