My wife received her Permanent Residence Card and now is filing for divorce. I thought her intentions were true and that she was really in love with me, but she told me it was just a business relationship for her to get into the US. I feel like I got scammed, is there anything I can do to stop this scammer?

I'm sorry to what happened to you. Not surprised though, considering she's Russian. I know a lot of Russians/Ukraine/Moldovan who live in Boston area and are married to USC for GC or are seeking to marry one for that purpose. I find it disgusting! Sorry again for you. Did you try to contact INS and explain? Good luck :thumbs:

Visa Journey is a multi-national site with members from around the world. Stereotyping and casting aspersions on one particular nationality is not acceptable. Your comments are out of line.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I find something amiss, you applied in 2005 for the I129, however your wife just received her green card? Is it a conditional card?

As to the poster with the stero type issue, stand down dearie. You can not judge anyone especially on here..........

I believe there are some Americans who are really dealing with these people but let's face the reality. This is not for all the Ukraine, Moldova, Slovakia or Russia people it really happens. But I won't deny that I do have some some friends from these countries and they are good and married to USC but for real. I am so sorry for what you're going through right now.

yes u can just tape or video tape her conversation when she says that she marry u for green card no loving relation, then take it to the immigration and report her and i bet u she will be deported as soon as possible,

other than that there is nothing u can,. it is ur words against her words.

and she will deny it , get the proof first then u can do something

good luck

Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg

:rolleyes: no she won't - it doesn't work like that. She will likely be denied removal of conditions when she tries to file for it. In the meanwhile there is nothing the OP can do.

If those were her exact words then you were deceived and she did marry to evade immigration law. Any other indications that are written that suggest the same?
