Really Visa's were for CR2. USC wife petitioning the kids on behalf of the father. Children were 16 and 11. They asked no questions at all of the kids. the main questions were in relation to the relationship between the dad and I ( I'm the uSC ). Emailed embassy a week before interview and was told to bring proof of the step parent relationship. I visited in January and we had photos of me and the kids in Santa Fe only picture they looked at. Over in less than 3 hours. Window interview was 10 minutes tops. Tooks 1 week and a day to get the visa in Periria ( sp ). Received the visas on Friday 2/22/08. PM me if you have just kids going for a more detailed explanation of what we went through to get them the interview.

Embassy Review : My 2 step Sons ( 16 and 11 ) came on a CR2 visa. They were asked no questions what so ever. took all of 5 minutes to fingerprint the 16yr old and they did nothing for the 11 yr. The dad stated it was a breeze. They came on a 5am flught from colombia.

Local US CIS Office Review: Newark NJ
Review Topic: cis_topic
Event Description
Review Date : September 14, 2007
Embassy Review : OK so here is whatr happened to us. We got to Newark at like 8:00AM for a 9:30 appointment, so we waited in thecar a while. Passed security and gave our letter to window # 2. I asked for an interpreter as my husbands English is not the best and did not want him getting confused with the questions. We waited until around 11:30am and were called in by a Hispanic lady. The whole interview was done in Spanish ( thank goodness I speak it fluently ). This added to the point of a reak marriage. SHe asked a few question like My mom's name and my dad's , well he did not know my dad's ever though we have gone over it. It said that my dad had passed many years ago and I do not speak of him often ( i do not ). Any way on the form we did not out he was divorced twice. But we had the divirce decree so she let it pass. She asked for photos , we had like 100, however the only photo she took out was a photo of my Husband with my Daughter ( 17 ) and her best friend at the beach. She pointed to my daughter and asked him if that is my daughter and of course he said yes ( she kew because my daughter is my mirror image) . After this she stated she had good news and bad news. I almost fell on the floor. She said we are a true marriage however he could not get his GC until he passed the FBI name check. What a bummer , but hey we passed the interview.
Harassment Level : Poor

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
