It's interesting to note how much talk there's been about flatulence and snoring in this thread. I wonder if the two are some sort of biological "morse code."

They're the universal language which transcends cultural and national differences!!! Flatulence and snoring are what keep us together!!!! :energy:

it makes us really appreciate what time we have together.........it also makes us try harder to work out any difference we might have its not like one of us can walk out the door to cool off and come back an hour later and work it out...........

That's sooo cute

i love this thread (F)

The good things:

Being made to get to know eachother through talking about stuff that you probably wouldn't talk about in a normal relationship.

The extended honeymoon period - Everytime I see Chris after being apart for so long, I get butterflies in my stomach. When I first see him, I just think, 'ugh, god you're hot!'

The absolutely pointless conversations. They have made us laugh soooo much! We can literally talk sh*t to eachother for hours... If anyone were to listen in they would think we were completely nuts!

I wholly agree with the snoring thing! I have never been with anyone that makes so much noise when they are asleep!!! (He also turns over automatically. All I have to do now is cough loudly and he's straight on his side :D ) I wear ear plugs and I can STILL hear him!

The bad things:

The heartache of not knowing when you are going to see eachother again.

The feeling of your heart being ripped out when you have to walk away at the airport.

Not being able to share special occasions. I cannot WAIT to spend Christmas, birthdays, Easter and every single occasion with Chris.

Arguments - They are ALWAYS worse on the phone. Sometimes things are misconstrued because you haven't got facial expressions to look at. Things can easily be taken the wrong way.

The Good Things:

Working together toward a common goal. You really learn what's important and what's not...and usually, the time spent together is cherished more.

Communication...you talk more about anything and everything.

Waiting at the airport for your love to get off the plane....no other feeling like it!

Having the opportunity to have lots of 'me' time...this is especially true for women because we usually give up so much of ourselves to everyone. Wanna spend 5 hours on a beauty ritual? Go for it. Hit the gym at 9pm? Go for it! Wanna work a 14 hour day? Nothing stopping ya! And the money will deffo come in handy! (provided you have no other resp like kids, etc).

You have the time in your home to prepare for your love's arrival...I've become a great 'purger' of stuff....old #######, old clothes, etc...in the last months of our relationship, I got rid of so much stuff in preparation for D. For me, there's no better feeling than decluttering. I also had the time to make silly things like scrapbooks, picture slide shows, catch up with friends, etc.

Being able to be alone yet know that somewhere, someone is totally in love with you and is thinking of you right now.

The Bad:

You're pretty much blind to what's happening on the other side of the world, and if you're not told about stuff, you have no clue what's going on til it hits you in the face.

gah, too much else to mention!

Some says that LDR won't work because of lack of trust, communication and etc...

You can give you opinion on how to workout this kind of relationship.

GOD bless to all of us.

In my own opinion it depends up to people. Some people work it out real good, some dont..

In my own personal experience lasted 6 years, LDR did not work because I realized in the end that there is a lot of things that we didnt know on each other. I mean you can talk anything in the phone or YM see each other but knowing the person inside in and out, time is not enough.. Some say you can divorce her or him later if things did not worked out real good. But for me, I think when you enter marriage it is like a covenant, the most sacred at all because two people bind together to have families, and have the communities we are in today. So I wouldnt get married if I am nor sure with my feelings for him. It is two side of the coin also. sometimes, you thought you love her because you misses her but when shes around you dont feel the excitement at all because you just love the idea of being online and talking to someone..

Both my fiance and are very independent people, so I have to admit it was nice having my own space and going out with my girlfriends and just generally not having to answer to anyone. I think he would say the same thing too.

So oddly enough, I think it will be hard adjusting to having to have someone there...telling them where you are going and when you are going to be back home.

I admit though, since moving out of my old apartment (that I shared with a roommate) last week and waiting for my DF to be here in 17 days has been tough. I don't like coming home to an empty house!

good things:
you can't smell his farts
you can't hear him snoring
when you are arguing you can picture that he's actually reading what your saying, instead of being face to face where you can see he went and found a happy place
you're free to surf the tv channels cuz the remote is always yours
you can have the last slice of pizza cuz the pizza is all yours, anyways

:rofl::rofl:
My husband does the happy place also, I am talking and talking and then all of a sudden he will say something that has no reverence to what I was saying, that shows me he didn’t hear a word I was saying. Love him, but yea, what is that about.

On the second thought, how to work it out... My husband always says "it's a team work" (you and your significant other being team members). If you both equally want to work it out you definitely will !!!
