What are the good things in Long Distance Relationship?

The one thing I'd say that is "good" about a long-distance relationship is makes us appreciate the amount of hard work and effort it takes to be together. My wife and I really feel that if all couples had to go through this #######, there'd be fewer divorces overall. More people would choose their partners carefully and attempt to work out their problems (when they occur, since they always do), instead of marrying anyone at the drop of a hat and then splitting up because of relatively insigificant reasons.

It wouldn't mean marriages would always be perfect or that divorces would never occur. We just think if something is too easy to attain, then people take it for granted it and no longer value it. We believe that's happened with marriage.

Yes definitely True! Divorce is not the option... LDR makes the best way to solve the problem and overcome the weaknesses of partners...

Only having to hang up a phone when the wife gets "loca"

uh oh.... hehe

Charles, I was just about to post "not having to sleep with ear plugs because of the slumbering bulldozer next to me!"

alex use my technique. all you do us kick him really hard every time you wake up from his snores OR push him onto the floor and pretend to be asleep when he asks you if you pushed him. works really well. sometimes I even take neil's pillows out from under his head and put them on his face.

eta: that pillow part is in a non suffocating kinda way

If my husband will not snore, I feel like I'm all alone in our bed. His snoring became my lullaby in the long run.

oh you're so sweet! Lol!

Waking up and smiling knowing I have a new message waiting :)

oh yes! and we feel like oh my gosh, he messaged me!!!! lol.. we are too much excited to check what was his message even we dont wash our face yet.. lol

The good things:

Being made to get to know eachother through talking about stuff that you probably wouldn't talk about in a normal relationship.

The extended honeymoon period - Everytime I see Chris after being apart for so long, I get butterflies in my stomach. When I first see him, I just think, 'ugh, god you're hot!'

The absolutely pointless conversations. They have made us laugh soooo much! We can literally talk sh*t to eachother for hours... If anyone were to listen in they would think we were completely nuts!

I wholly agree with the snoring thing! I have never been with anyone that makes so much noise when they are asleep!!! (He also turns over automatically. All I have to do now is cough loudly and he's straight on his side :D) I wear ear plugs and I can STILL hear him!

The bad things:

The heartache of not knowing when you are going to see eachother again.

The feeling of your heart being ripped out when you have to walk away at the airport.

Not being able to share special occasions. I cannot WAIT to spend Christmas, birthdays, Easter and every single occasion with Chris.

Arguments - They are ALWAYS worse on the phone. Sometimes things are misconstrued because you haven't got facial expressions to look at. Things can easily be taken the wrong way.

Yes yes... i hate to hear the airplane.... makes me grrr!

But honestly, everyday is full of HOPE to all of us... Ayt!

good things:

you can't smell his farts

you can't hear him snoring

when you are arguing you can picture that he's actually reading what your saying, instead of being face to face where you can see he went and found a happy place

you're free to surf the tv channels cuz the remote is always yours

you can have the last slice of pizza cuz the pizza is all yours, anyways

Hahahhaha!!!

The best thing about a LDR is that most of the BS goes away. LDR teaches that you have to be totally committed, understanding, and a big listener. If you are really in love, you will feel it in a LDR. :bonk:

Well, for myself....I had to be totally sensitive to my Lola's feelings and mood changes. I had learned to be a better man in order to support her in every way.

I had enjoyed sending her e-mails, listening to her sweet voice over the phone,

and being very expressive about my emotions. She has made me a better and stronger man.

Thank You Baby!!!
