COPING UP WITH SPOUSAL DIFFERENCES?

What I've learned is pretty simple, yet takes a while to really get good at: don't sweat the small stuff.

That means that marriage (even just a "regular" boyfriend/girlfriend relationship) will have plenty of rough patches and "bumps in the road," so there's no point in getting angry or upset over relatively trivial matters. Unfortunately, those are the issues that most couples tend to argue about most. These problems may seem incredibly important at the time, but in the grand scheme of things, they really aren't and are just serving to create a tension-filled household.

Once again, all of this is far easier said than done. But it can be done -- it just takes practice. ;)

What is it with men and their old shirts??

Saludos,

Caro

and underwear and socks

now, the benefit of underwear and socks, is...you don't have to consult before throwing them away. A shirt I might ask if it has a sentimental value (many of Justin's concert shirts do, that's fine). Socks and underwear, no mercy! :P:no:

bad wifey :bonk:

Mags and I are pretty good together. She keeps me from telling people what they really are, and therefore keeps me from getting banned from VJ permanently. lol

OMG I can so relate to you. That's what Charles do and I thank him for that.

only cause i know everything one can be suspended for around here from personal experience

Charles, I am the poster child for this subject. :P

I just tear them up and turn them into rags esp those shirts that come from his ex's . :P ..socks throw away

You can also look for a clothes recycling center in your area. You can take shirts, pants and shorts, if they are faded or can be patched then they can use them

I've discovered tons of recycling containers for everything! clothes, plastic bags, phone books, to complement your curb side recycling

Caro

Just squeeze your rage into a bitter little ball and release it at an appropriate time. Like the time Daddy hit the referee with the whiskey bottle! Remember that? When Daddy hit the referee?

I'm guessing 'Simpsons' quote. Do I win something? Do I? Hmm? OK.

Never ever as in "I've seen it was on as I was changing channels but I've never actually stopped to watch it." Same goes for Seinfeld. I haven't seen that show either. I tried to watch it a couple of times but I found the characters highly annoying so I changed channels after a few minutes.

I've watched 'The Simpsons' on & off but I'm with you on 'Seinfeld' - never seen a whole episode for the same reason. I don't think it ever really took off in the UK. Had a late night slot. Became sort of a cult viewing thing. *doesn't have the shrugging smiley but shrugs anyway*

Part of being married.

yeah it is, that's a fact. HOW do u cope up though.

Compromise, understanding and love.

 This answers the OP's question perfectly!

reminds me of part of a song...

Maroon5-She will be loved

It’s not always rainbows and butterflies

It’s compromise that moves us along

Liefde is een bloem zo teer dat hij knakt bij de minste aanraking en zo sterk dat niets zijn groei in de weg staat

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

If you're both determined to make the marriage/relationship work, you can. I believe that one of the keys to a good relatioship is communication, telling your SO about your thoughts and feelings in a calm manner. No matter how much you love each other, you are still two individuals that have had a life with good and bad experiences and habits that formed well before you met.

Making compromises and sacrifices for one another is yet another key factor in my opinion. Whenever differences come up, especially those that lead to major disagreements, you should always remember how and why you fell in love with your spouse and all those moments that made you want to spend the rest of your lives together.

Good luck and and all the very best for your future!!!!

In every difficulty lies an island of opportunity.
