Married here after K-1 visa. Her previous marriage ended when her husband passed away.

So do you now believe that the she is truly a widow, or you still believe the husband's death was faked?

I remember you earlier saying you'd seen the death certificate and have visited the grave.

According to documents I have seen, he is deceased. Immediately after the naturalization, out of the blue and insisting that I file. 0-150MPH in weeks!! The ex is interned with 2 other relatives. It just does not add up!

I don't understand the connection between her previous husband being deceased and her requesting a divorce?

It could be that she has been unhappy in the marriage but thought her status in the US was tied to your marriage until she gained citizenship ( that's not correct but people have all kinds of incorrect beliefs around immigration status).

The only person that can answer your questions is your wife.

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey

It's quite possible that your wife was either:

A) Thinking about divorce before but waiting until the stress of her naturalization process was over with before dealing with the stress of an oncoming divorce.

B)  Not sure how to approach you about divorce until now.  It's not an easy thing to bring up in a marriage, especially if one partner thinks everything is hunky-dory in the relationship.

C) Feeling more independent as a person and ready to proceed with a divorce now that she has gained her citizenship (if she was thinking about divorce beforehand).

Or a combination of all 3.  You need to talk to your wife to be able to have it "add up".

Sounds like there is nothing to do with Immigration.

One USC wants to divorce another.

Either way if she is interned with relatives and wants a divorce tell her go file for it herself.  If she wants to marry someone from the Philippines she can file a K1 petition as a USC and have at it.

Nothing you can do to make someone stay loyal to you dude - she wants out you have to man up and move on.

The dead husband is interned with relatives aka buried in the same tomb.

Did you do a ROM (Report of Marriage) either at a consulate or in the Philippines? If so that most likely is why she is asking you to file as plaintiff. If you did not do a ROM then it really doesn't matter who files. If it were me I would tell her if she wants to file go ahead and file and not ask you to do so, Bottom line is you can't force someone to be with you. I wouldn't want to be with someone that did not want to be with me.

To me there is no reason to believe (and you have not provided any) that her previous husband is not dead.
