Withdrawing from TSC in order to resubmit through CSC - is it really so bad?

Thanks for the advice. I'll give them a call and see if they actually help.

Look up some other threads on the topic too. I've read that it's a tough process, but the petitioners kept pushing and kept pushing and got their approved. Stay on top of the deadlines, USCIS will invariably give you a deadline and not meet it. Just call them back the day after the deadline to politely inquire.

Take care on your journey!

My two cents - besides the matter if withdrawing and filing again would be considered a fraud or not, everything I tried with TSC was slow to the point not to move at all..starting with I-485 almost 1 year ago and then Service Requests, email, InfoPass...so I wonder how long it would take to TSC to just acknowledge your request of withdrawal so that you can file again and get to CSC (and in the meantime your request is certainly going nowhere).Dealing with TSC seems a case of "between a rock and a hard place", alas.

It hasn't though, in the 1.5 months that CSC has processed the majority of i-129f's they have continuously been rolling out approvals within the month. Worst case scenario is that they would have to wait 3 months instead of 1, which is still a whole lot better than the current 8 month wait at TSC.

but it doesn't mean it won't. Processing times fluctuate constantly and can never be predicted. When I petitioned my husband at VSC they were very fast and NO ONE wanted CSC, then within 6 months it was reversed.

I know of long time CSC employee who is a member of another visa-focused message board. She claims the workload shift will only cause TSC to move along quicker and then, ultimately, CSC will be the snail's pace processing center. So in other words, as many of you have already said, it never truly balances out. The problem just switches to another service center.

Other than the obvious expense, is there really any down-side or potentially negative effects in the eyes of USCIS if we were to withdraw our current petition and re-submit?

Can't say. You can go first and fill us in on how it went.

@baron99 - Snarky posts from members who have not only been approved, but are also already married and together are just salt in the wound.

do you think Baron and others of us didn't have to wait when it was our time? Everyone waits. People are pointing out the honest facts about processing times, they change and can never be predicted. The truth sucks, but it's still the truth.

I am so out of touch, but since when could you choose where you file your application?

Yes. How stupid is this? You would think they would fix the underlying cause, but they never do. Balance the freakin workload! Split the states more equally. It's not that hard.

Am I the only one who has a real issue with the people who write "WE are so frustrated!" ? And then I see they submitted less than three months ago and it gives me the feeling they think people who waited longer were not as frustrated or frustrated at all.

Most people who had to go through TSC were frustrated but had to wait. Many people couldn't even visit one another. Many people have had financial issues because they've been visiting while waiting. You're not the only one. And sadly you're not the last.

You can try and get out of your way to outsmart the system, but you can't be sure of the outcome and it might make the process even longer for you.

I'm not sure there's a "safe" way to do this to ensure you will wait less than others. When you start a process you accept the processing time that comes along with it.

We weren't that frustrated the first 4 months, so maybe it means we don't love each other that much? Lol. Anyway, jokes aside, safest thing for you is to wait. Almost two months down already.

You can't. However if a person is armed with the knowledge that all new applications are going to CSC (currently the fast center) vs all those who filed before the new directive (still stuck at TSC), you can see how that might lead to the temptation of refilling a petition.

Not prudent or a good idea imho, but the thinking is there.

Regarding balancing the workload, I think we all know whatever system they use is really quite terrible. The President has been made aware of this and even suggestions of how to fix that problem. Unfortunately, this was the solution they came up with - either by him saying ''okay USCIS do this'' or ''USCIS there's a problem you need to fix so figure something out yourselves okay?" For some reason I believe it to have been the later rather than the former. Whatever happened caused some scrambling, but it will not solve the problem long term. CSC will either be the service center slowing down eventually and Texas will catch up, or Texas will continue to twiddle their thumbs at a snails pace regardless of CSC.

It is a huge chance you take. But, I understand, at least you would be making progress, "AT THIS POINT",.,.,.,but for how long?

This sounds like something I would do, especially the way TSC is operating.,.,good luck, what ever your decision.

BUT, it is a huge chance you take. What if petitions, stop going to CSC, next month? Then how would you feel?

I do not blame you, so go for it.,.,.,and I hope it works for you. I hope two K-1's, do not get tangled up.,.,and cause you more grief, as I said, you are taking a huge chance.

And how many other people are doing the same thing? What is that going to the process!

when my wife and I started our K1 journey 2.5 years ago, the CSC was processing k1 applicants in less than 60 days. Then some things changed. It took us 1 year to get NOA2. If you withdraw, there is no guarantee that your new application will get routed to anywhere else. It is based on your location and where they decide to send it. You will only lose your current position and move further back in the queue. Be patient. This process is not short, there are no short cuts, focus on each other till you get NOA2.

I just want to say I feel so relieved and so much less alone after seeing CamMarie and Walrusbaby who are both at TSC and French!! My fiancé and I got our first NOA on October 14, 2014 and have heard NOTHING since then... no RFE, literally nothing. It's so frustrating. I feel like no matter what I do (calling, looking online, etc) I can't get a straight answer for any of my questions. But It makes me feel so much less alone just to see two other people in a similar situation <3 :)
