Notice of Potential Interview Waiver Case [Part II]

Had a very strange thing happen. I got a text this morning that our case number was updated. So I logged into USCIS website and it said that the EAD Renewal case number was updated (we already received the EAD Renewal Card). But when you click on the case number everything is that same. Says EAD card was delivered to you on 5/5/2015.

So I checked the Case number for the GC (I485) and the update date is the same and when you click on that case nnumber it is also the same. Says that they mailed RFE on 5/8/2015.

What the Heck!! Why would they even mess with the EAD case number at this point?? Im concerned and frustrated.

I had the same thing happen to us. I-693 was received on 6/25 and signed for. On 6/28 I got an email from USCIS that the EAD/AP was updated. I thought that it was strange that I got that message. But I figured they were working on my case, and thought that maybe it had to do with they were putting an internal note on the ead/ap that it was going to be invalid because the greencard was going to be issued (just in case we went through a POE).

I have checked my status on I-485 and there are no updates, and no date change. There was not any updates that an RFE was sent. I am guessing that we will just get a "welcome to America" letter in the mail, and there will not be any updates online. There has been several have that happen to them.

Nlhernan, now this morning I checked USCIS web site and our case number for I485 says updated 07/05/15. But when you click on the case number everything is still the same as before" Request for evidence sent on 5/8/15". Ao I dont understand what is going. Strange.

Has anyone received the welcome letter or GC but their case status never changed from "request for evidence mailed"???

:

I got a few texts from USCIS at 1:30am this morning - thanks for that USCIS. The texts said my renewal EAD & AP had been updated and also that my AOS had been updated. When I logged in my EAD & AP were updated to yesterdays date as now say:

my_logo.png
Case Terminated Benefit Received By Other Means

On June 24, 2015, we terminated your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization , Receipt Number MSC999999999, because the applicant or petitioner received a status or benefit through other means. We will send you a termination notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

June 24? I don't know why it's taken this long to text me? Oh wait, yes I do - it's USCIS.

My AOS has also changed and has gone back from "My card was delivered to me by the post office" to "On May 26, 2015, we mailed your new card for Receipt Number MSC99999999".

MovinOn, I think there was recently a case where someone received their GC and the online tracker still said "My fingerprint was received". Sigh.

Congratulationa! At long last! Did your status get updated online? Did you get texts / emails?

Thank you Derwood, you were the one brought me to this thread and finally understood the whole situation for NPIW case. Regarding my status, unfortunately not. It still says fingerprint fee was received. I did not get any text or email updates whatsoever. My husband came from work and checked the mail. The notice date is June 30, 2015.

To others, I am hoping yours will come soon too, :)

They don't changed status very often. Some people are lucky to have it and including its tracking number for their green cards. Mine still says " fingerprint fee was received" as well and they already approved my I-485. I received RFE back in May 22, 2015. Don't rely on it at all.
