I got my visa! But now ELIS won't let me pay the fee. What the eff! I added the 0 in the alien number and it says if my visa was issued <5 days ago I need to try later. But I need to pay it before I get to POE which is Wednesday morning... :|

The ELIS website is terrible, but you don't actually need to pay the fee before entry. It's just a recommendation. You can pay it any time after POE - the only thing is that your green card is not going to be made until after you pay... but that step is actually taking like three months apparently so a week is not going to make any difference. The stamp on your passport is valid as a green card for a year. Good luck!

What if I cannot pay my USCIS Immigrant Fee before I depart for the United States? If you are unable to pay the fee before your departure, you must pay this fee after you arrive in the United States. If there is no record of payment in USCIS ELIS following your admission to the United States, USCIS will send a Request for Payment, which will include instructions on paying your fee. Please note that you will not receive your Permanent Resident Card until you have paid the USCIS Immigrant Fee.

How long after your status on ceac stating ISSUED Did You Go To Pick It Up? Did They Send You An Email Stating It Was Ready For Pick Or Did You Call?

Oh my goodness thank you both so much. Phew! Hubster is still going to try to pay it in the morning (US time) before I fly out. Just in case. We cannot take any risks in this process!

I'm about to leave for my domestic flight to Brisbane then leaving for LAX tomorrow at 10:25am QLD time. God I cannot wait to see my husband and dog!

It's not required to pay before you leave. I have been reading that they aren't letting you in to pay right away but some do.

Just pay later its not required you have a year to pay the fee.

Calm down you don't have to pay. Please people you can pay anytime after POE. You will get a temp green card stamp in passport that can be used to travel and get employment. IT IS NOT REQUIRED TO PAY BEFORE POE. I DON'T CARE WHAT THE PAPERWORK SAYS.!!

This is nothing to stress over. It is well. . The hard part is over. Now to get on with real tlife together.

DR pickup and delivery is totally different from everyone elses. DR has a whole new system. You need to check your countries website.

Visa issued same day? No If not whats the waiting period? 1 - 3 weeks, depending on location. Delivered by courier service. Or you can schedule to pick it up from designated location.

We are schedule to pick it up at their location my question is will they inform us when it's ready to pick up or do I have to call them?
