Sigh…the supervisor review rejected what I had sent in as well.

Hubby now has requested a supervisor call him so that he can speak directly to someone who can make a decision and not read from a script.

So frustrated.

But the girl he talked to tonight actually comprehended what I was saying over Skype while he was on the speaker phone with her and said when he talks to the supervisor and explains things they might let it go through.

What made me laugh is she said if the phone call with the supervisor didn’t work they’d have me PHONE the Consulate in Montréal to see if they would accept the paperwork.

Our I-864 was received at NVC today.

Does anyone know (if we don't get any checklists) how and if we are notified that it's been approved?

Thanks

is there someone in here who was able to obtain a tax return transcript for 2012?

you don't need the tax transcripts if you did your taxes right you can also sent the 1040 tax return form. I had to confirm this by calling NVC and they said they'll accept that too.

Case complete!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!finally

Congrats! Let me know when you get your interview assigned from Nairobi. My husband and I are right behind you in the process. We are praying for a case complete the end of April/beginning of May. Do you have any idea how long people have been waiting for interviews to be assigned in Nairobi? I tried to research it but there are not that many on VJ that have recently gone through the Nairobi Embassy.

2013 began CR1 process

Fast forward to:

2/24/16- Husband received 10 year green card

Starting the process over again for our daughter (IR2):

I'll just repost my question from the other thread:

Soooooooo...we got our NOA2 on April 8th (nice wedding present lol) but it mentions in the first paragraph that "he can apply for adjustment of status". We were under the assumption that he had to go back to England when he finished this visit to do the interview etc, but if he's here and the NOA2 mentions adjustment of status, could he just stay and do that? He's been here since March 22nd and was only staying until April 17th.

Maybe I'm just being stupid and hopeful. At least receiving the NOA2 was nice.

I am confused.

I suppose I will call the nvc today.

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.

Case complete!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!finally

Congrats! kicking.gif

Our I-864 was received at NVC today.

Does anyone know (if we don't get any checklists) how and if we are notified that it's been approved?

Thanks

Nope, no notifications on package acceptance. Only if it's rejected will you know (through a checklist). You need to call and ask.

I saw a lot of people received case complete email.

Why I didn't receive even my case is completed.

Receiving a case complete for a non-EPer is NOT guaranteed. Only if you're doing electronic processing is it guaranteed (as much as it can be guaranteed with a government agency) to get a case complete email.

As long as you have a case complete, that's all that matters. An email won't make a difference.

you don't need the tax transcripts if you did your taxes right you can also sent the 1040 tax return form. I had to confirm this by calling NVC and they said they'll accept that too.

Remember, if you're not sending in tax transcripts, you need to send a lot more than just the 1040 form. You also need to send the W2s, 1099s, schedules, worksheets, etc. Basically, everything that was sent to the IRS has to be sent to NVC. This is why tax transcripts are so much more preferred as, not only are they shorter, but more concise. And it's actual proof you filed your taxes, compared to just filling in a 1040 form which proves nothing.

I'll just repost my question from the other thread:

If you didn't file for adjustment of status, you can't continue with it. You need to send in a lot more with the I-130 petition if you're adjusting status. It was an error on their part, for whatever reason. It happened to another member here recently. You need to contact USCIS immediately and fix the error. Tell them you're applying for a spousal visa, not adjustment of status. They'll need to fix your case, and then send it to NVC. This might take a few weeks...

Will they notifiy me by email on the interview date or do I need to call?

If you gave over both email addresses when the case number was assigned, you'll receive it by email. But it can take a few days to receive after the interview date is assigned. So, if you want to find out as soon as possible, I suggest calling every day. If you're happy to just sit back and wait, then no need to call.
