Withdrawing I-129F

I think perhaps I didn't wait long enough to really get to know this girl before filing my I-129F. I have the NOA. I don't expect to receive my NOA2 until May or June. Two Questions:

1.Should I wait until I receive the NOA2 before sending the letter stating I want to withdraw my petition or should I send it now?

2.If I should send it now, should I send a letter to NVC and the Vermont Service Center?

Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks

Oh I am sorry to hear about this and I don't have the answer to your question. Whatever the reason behind you planning to withdraw your petition, It's better to happen now than to invest more of your feelings, money and time to the person you are not sure of.

If you wish to cancel your petition --you should send a letter adressed to USCIS at the Service center you send in the petition , and inform them them about the cancellation . No need to send to NVC since it has not yet been approved and forwarded to that agency . I would send it as soon as possible . I am sorry to hear .Best wishes in future .

The above is correct but the action taken is to "Withdraw the petition". A simple letter stating full names and case number signed by the petitioner is sufficient.

I hereby withdraw my petition for... is how you state your intention. It is not a request. It is a withdrawal.

So sorry to hear this. You should cancel it before it gets approved otherwise this would count as an approved petition and would add one to your IMBRA Filing limitations.

NOA1 - 12/21/15

NOA2 - 04/18/16

NVC Receive - 04/29/16

NVC Welcome - 05/13/16

DS-261 - 05/14/16

AOS, IV PAID - 05/27/16

DS260 done - 06/10/16

Case Transferred to US Embassy in Riga Latvia at the end of October.

If you really want it, you'll find a way!

Yes

Remember the K-1 is not a "get to know you" visa. Sorry you jumped the gun with that.

Hindsight is always 20/20. I didn't think I was jumping the gun with my second marriage, at the time, but it didn't take long for my hindsight to override my foresight.

Sorry to hear about your situation, but I was in your exact position last year. If there is a possibility that this will work out, then I wouldn't do anything. The process will continue and basically be pending awaiting your action. If you are totally sure that it isn't going anywhere, then I would recommend canceling with the quickness.

In my case I thought that it expired. After I began filing for my current fiancée, I realized that I could only file once within a 2-year period. What I did on my application was I sent them a withdrawal request for the first one along with the emails that showed that I had broke things off. I also included another letter asking for a waiver. I thought this would complicate my process and hold things up, but I had my application approval in like 19 days. We are human and we make mistakes. In my case I probably pulled the trigger too soon and broke off the relationship prematurely, but at the time I thought it was the right thing to do. I am happy I did, because I have someone that is more compatible with me.

Here is the link I used to help in writing my cancellation: Withdrawing a K1 Visa Request

So sorry to hear this. I think you should contact USCIS by phone and ask them what you should do at this point and follow it up with a letter. Best of luck next time. Don't give up hope on love and happiness.
