Still hard to believe my husband is finally done with immigration. Had his oath ceremony on Sat. I bought him a t-shirt with the US flag on it, and it says, "Relax Gringo, I'm Legal"

    Citizenship granted!

Had my citizenship interview this morning at 7.30am at the Denver field office with a lovely lady who made it a very easy experience. I was asked six “history” questions and got them right so that ended there, read and wrote a sentence in English, then verified my application details on address, marriage date, phone number etc and answered all the standard questions on whether I’d been convicted of crimes, belonged to communist party etc.

She did the oath “ceremony” right there in her office and had the certificate printed- DONE!! It is such a relief to be finished with paperwork!! Best of luck to everyone on their way!

*off to update my timeline for the last time, hooray!*

If she’s between 19 and 49 she will only need the following:
Td or Tdap MMR Varicella (either shot or history) Influenza (seasonal) Its not required to have vaccines completed to pass K1 medical but I strongly suggest you do them because it’s required for adjustment of status once she gets here. It’s very difficult to find a USCIS designated civil surgeon here in the US who will agree to transcribe vaccinations only, they will make you go through another medical to make money off of you.

I had my both citizenship and oath ceremony today at Baltimore field office. It was an emotional experience.

Interviewing officer was super super nice. As I mentioned in one of my previous posts here, I had a complex immigration history spanning over 20 years. She was very sympathetic towards me. Interview went very well. She jokingly said, that she does not want me see deal with USCIS any more, she will schedule the oath the same day.

Thank you very much all here for all your support. And good luck.

KayDeeCee reacted to Mira1983 in My N400 Interview Experience
This has been the fasted part of my journey.  I submitted my N400 form online on June 2nd and received my NOA later that same week. I then received my interview notice in July scheduled for August 16th so likely I had about 3 weeks to prepare for the Questions and upon my arrival for the interview at the Baltimore office I went through security and checked in and waited for about 20 minutes to be called.  The Officer was pleasant apologized for keeping me waiting.  He asked to see my Green Card and he explained the process.
1 - He asked me who George Washington was ( I answered, he was the first president)
2 - he asked me to write down on a piece of paper George Washington was the first president of United States

Then he explained that he will be leaving the room to conduct the rest of the interview on virtual as we communicate through the tablet.

    - For the Civic question:
1 Name the US War between the North and the South
2 -What did Martin Luther King Jr Do
3 - What did Susan B Anthony do?
4 - When is the last day you can send in federal income tax forms
5 - What is freedom of religion?
6 - Why does the flag have 50 stars

Then he said I passed and he asked some questions on my application form:
    - Do you have a job and I said yes and he asked me where I worked and I told him and he agreed and says oh yes I see it here
    - DO you have children - I said yes two a boy and a girl
    - Do you pay taxes - Yes

He proceed to asks like 4-5 more of the yes or no questions.

Then he said congratulations you have passed and your oath ceremony is scheduled at 3:30 today.
So he came back to the room gave me the paperwork and I went out of the building and came  back 15 minutes earlier and was let in.  There were about 20-25 people for the ceremony and once done was  done by 4 and very smoothly, I left out of there with my naturalization certificate.

BTW - Please do bring with all the green cards you ever had so they can take it off you.  I have to post my conditional one as I did not have it with me only current 10 years one.

This by far has been the easiest part of the process.

    August 17, 2021
Oh God! What a beautiful day! I even don't know where do I start lol
I was scheduled for my interview at 830, so came in at 815, at 825 was called by the officer, the officer was extremely nice, asked me 6 questions, then asked me to read "where is the white house" and to write the white house is in Washington DC. Then went over my n400, at 835 he told me congratulations, please wait in the waiting room, at 9 exactly my name was called by another officer who was holding my naturalization certificate in his hand, so he took me into a room and read the oath, I repeated after him the full oath, then he gave me my certificate, said congratulations and took me outside, I left the building at 9 10, then I ran to DMV and upgraded my real ID driver's license to enhanced driver's license for US citizens only (I maid an appointment for it online a week ago) then I ran to the passport agency and apply for a first time passport, it will be ready in 15 minutes, (made an appointment by phone by waiting over 3 hours on the line 2 weeks ago)
So this is pretty much it
Guys! I truly hope from the bottom of my heart that all of you will get your certificates soon! I wish luck to each of you! Please text me or call me at any time if you have any questions, I'm always here to help as much as I can!!!

Just an update- I filed for N400 on June 6, had biometrics already on file applied, got notified August 9 that my interview will be on Sept 18.

That happened quicker than I thought it would! And of course happens to be right in the middle of when we are going to be between apartments so we’re planning on a trip to fill the few weeks gap…but better sooner than later!

KayDeeCee got a reaction from chancecody in Remote work income from non-US company caused RFIE
This is about the I-864 for the I-485. Your I-485 won't be denied for your remote work, it is just that your income cannot be counted on the I-864. You don't need an explanation about why you included your income, what you did or didn't do/think. You just need to answer the RFE with what they asked for because it can be denied for lack of proper sponsorship. They asked for for proof that your income could be included OR proof of assets for your spouse and of course the 12 months of bank statements they asked for. Send in the proof that your spouse meets the requirement with income and assets. If the requirement cannot be met with just assets added, then provide a joint sponsor.
