What are some of the benefits and services I can receive as a refugee?
Some refugees are eligible to apply for federal mainstream benefits in their state, such as cash assistance through Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), health insurance through Medicaid, and food assistance through Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). If you are not eligible to receive these mainstream benefits, you can be screened for eligibility at a state government benefits office or the closest resettlement agency in your state for ORR benefit
 

Look for resettlement agencies in your area. They know how to help with applying for certain benefits, help with housing and employment.

The "work with lawyers" part is for other legal paths to immigration or authorized stay, such as asylum and family or employment based immigration.  The HP program is to help temporarily.  It is not a path to immigration by itself.  If they have a valid case, then contact an immigration lawyer.

How fast after the status changing to transit do we get email about interview date?

I see that some countries in Central America get interviews and some not. The COVID situation is kind of similar there. Does it depend on political situation between the certain country and USA or I overthinking it?

So, can we try request expedite interview if we ow mission critical and may be add doctors' notes about depression or something like that?

In Central America the rules are so strict. I called their Embassy in DC and they told me that I am not allowed to the country even as a spouse. I am sure some marriages in current situation can be ruined. Video calls are not helping when no physical contact in months.

Can we write a petition to President or Supreme Court requesting to schedule CR1 interviews? I can't believe that so many people are in this situation and nothing can be done. They can't keep the families separated, it is against humanity.
