    Have a look at this:

Just replace beneficiary with petitioner, and of course use the correct page and part numbers for petitioner.

The example form here on visa journey shows to type PRESENT. So I guess that is what most people do. That is what I did.

I put N/A for all fields that didn't apply to me. Didn't run into any issues. I feel like it also communicates that I reviewed that field and found it not applicable, and it removes any doubt that I accidentally overlooked it.

Read the I-129F instructions. It has a list of required evidence that you have to send with your petition; just the form is not enough.

USCIS does not send a checklist. Depending on the country in which the beneficiary is interviewing, they may receive a checklist from the consulate with a list of documents to mail or bring to the consulate.

I've done an AOS from a student visa (thru naturalization) and an IR-5.  I don't remember ever being sent a checklist from USCIS, at any point during the process.  That's why you use places like VJ...people here have created guides and checklists you can use.

Advice:  never, ever, ever expect that USCIS is going to help you with this process.  You're going to do all of it yourself.

Advise against it, and besides if immigration at airport looks at his pics on phone, and there is wedding pic,   he could very possibly be refused into the US.
    Don't risk it.

Traditional marriage is a legal marriage in Ghana. You would be ineligible for a K1 visa.

Once fiance visa is approved, would a cultural/traditional African wedding ceremony (not marriage with a certificate) impose on his entry? We just want to celebrate marriage with friends and family just before he leaves his homeland since they all may not be able to come to United States for the traditional "white wedding". Would we be able to do a ceremony at least?

Do not risk it. If during his entry the officials catch wind of it he can be denied entry. You yourself are calling it a traditional wedding ceremony. If anyone posts about it on social media and you know someone will. It's all game over. Don't take the risk. Go back later to do that and then you can enjoy it without worry.

I strongly suggest you spend more time together before filing any type of petition.   If you petitioned your former husband and now plan to marry someone you haven't seen in over two years, you could have issues getting the visa, especially depending on which consulate.

Also, the 90 days is not a “trying out” period.   Part of the K-1 packet requires you to attest in writing to your good faith plan to marry each other within 90 days, so if you’re still not sure, that is not an appropriate use of the visa.

I would seriously consider a spousal visa since you have to meet again.

Every couple has their own priorities, and each couple must decide which visa is better for their situation.
    K-1
      More expensive than CR-1
Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork)
Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 6-8 months)
Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 6-8 months)
Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period
Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed.
A K-1 might be a better choice when 18-21 year old children are immigrating also
In some situations, marriage can affect certain Home country benefits, making a K-1 a better choice
A denied K-1 is sent back to USCIS to expire
K-1 entrant cannot file for citizenship until after having Green Card for 3 years.
Once an I-129F has been approved, delaying the case is difficult to impossible if the need arises.

    CR-1/IR-1
      Less expensive than K-1
      No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required.
Spouse can immediately travel outside the US
Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival.
Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US
Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport.
Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US.
The clock for citizenship filing starts immediately upon entry to the US.
A CR-1/IR-1 case can be delayed indefinitely at NVC if the need arises.
