That is common.  My wife's birth certificate was the same. You should ask for an AKA on your NBI Clearance with your mother's surname.

Just in case you still need information… I am also late registered, but not for that long. I was asked for my baptismal certificate and local civil registry document. As mentioned above, it depends on the officer but if I didn’t have those documents with me, it would have caused delays. I also brought form 137, school ID that I can find when I was in elementary, and even my college transcript of records.

I also had my mother’s name updated since it was misspelled on my original birth certificate. It only took about 3 months then the annotation was added when I requested for copies of my birth certificate before I left for the US.

I am trying to figure out what that has to do with late registration. If you come with a PSA BC that is marked with "late registration"

you will need supporting documents. I am not here to argue as I have been there done that. Better have it and not need it than need it and not have it. I wish that I knew you when my wife had her interview, maybe I could have had you explain to the CO that it was not needed.

Are you talking about the way your signature looks is different?
Your name in both are the same correct?
If so sign it the way you want. Not one single signature of mine is the same. It's no big deal as long as it is yours.

You will be there, live and in person.  If they ask about your signature, which is unlikely, you can always sign it again right in front of them.  How you choose to sign your name is up to you alone, and you can change it whenever you want.

    How much was tbe charge?

I would contact the credit union to get more information about the source of the charge to verify it and ensure it is a valid charge.  USCIS has nothing to do with " visa processing" -- that is the State Department's role and only begins after the I-129f is approved and the case forwarded to NVC, where it is then forwarded to the Embassy.

Well it’s still good to hear from them I guess 😆😅. I guess its safe to just take a look at the NOA2 package or what we have to next. The stressful hunt for documents starts again…

That is odd, usually they are fast to take the money. Looks like they realized they haven’t charged for the petition yet and are rectifying their error.

you'll probably start seeing approvals for your month around dec-jan 2024.

Also I doubt your service centre is Texas, it should be California. Everyone sends it to Texas lockbox but it then goes to California centre. If your number starts with WAC, that's cali. EDIT: okay so your profile on forum says texas but timeline says cali. My bad. Not sure why they're showing diff things

Yes the times are improving, and it's really great to see. As of January or February this year they finally started processing more cases a week than cases submitted. So the more recent your case the more you'll feel the benefit (barring any unexpected downturn in processing).

I am 70 years old US citizen and my husband is 30 years old from Indonesia. same sex couple.  Our K1 was approved without issue, ( I did visit him 8 times in 4 years, so the in person meeting was most certainly not an issue.)  At the time of the interview he was unemployed over 3 years.  In any case if you are able to prove you are in love, you will be just fine.  Good luck.

One thing that is definitely a positive is more face time together.  As you mentioned, the interview is months away, so it doesn't hurt to get together in person as many times as practical before that.

You will be interviewed by an American officer in Manila embassy, so same sex, your age gap, you being unemployed in a "third world country" is not a red flag as long as 1) you've actually been spending some time together in real life, not just online dating (proof of him travelling to you and photos of you together, for example), 2) you keep in touch on daily basis (e.g., print outs of texts/phone calls/emails between each other on regular basis [no need to show them the content of those messages, just a print out of his and your incoming/outcoming phone numbers]), 3) whatever other means of correspondence you may have (e.g., post cards etc.) 4) Proof of his income from the petitioner (your fiance)

You met in person during the two years prior to filing, correct?

I doubt you will have any issues at all, being a same-sex couple.  Gay marriage is (still) legal in all 50 states, and US embassies and consulates adjudicate visa applications using US laws, not local laws.

The age difference is not generally an issue for Philippines. I can't think of any specific VJ posts or members in your exact situation, but maybe others here can.

Howard L reacted to stuckonyou in Filed AOS more than 30 days ago and no NOA1
We're about to send our AOS packet out today (I'll just look through it one more time and hopefully everything is okay) and something that's been on my mind is that I will be out of status after July 8th. I know that some people get married late during their 90 days and that some people don't even bother sending the AOS packet in until later on, but I've felt that I don't want to risk anything happening that would get me into trouble for being here out of status... 😶

With that said I've heard that after your 90 days are up you can carry a copy of your marriage certificate and AOS NOA1 with you together with your passport and that should be okay. But what do you do if getting the NOA1 is delayed? How do you prove that it's okay for you to be here if you'd ever end up in a situation like that? Not that I plan to do something weird, but couldn't it be something as simple as getting pulled over by the cops for some routine thing and they ask for ID and see in my passport that my K1 status has expired?

I realize that I'm probably overthinking here, but I've read a few horror stories here way back. Most likely it's extremely rare that something would go wrong, but I'd prefer not to risk anything... Any thoughts on this?

I NEVER advised anyone that they should not keep a copy of the NAO1.  They should.  It helps to show "authorized stay"........I think you should use correct terminology when speaking about immigration.....THAT was the point.

Howard L reacted to Mike E in Beware bad information on AOS deadline for K1 (fresh out of jail)
Out of status. In status.  Lawful status. Legal status. Unlawful status. Illegal status.  Authorized stay.  Unauthorized stay.

Etc. It’s a wall of text that most people don’t understand and people become numb to it.  Equivocations and Mumbo Jumbo just lead  to tragedies such as that reported by OP.

A question to my wife’s lawyer before we filed “Can we file late?”  Ans: “ICE might not come a week after the deadline but they come.  “. It doesn’t get any clearer. We filed on time.

It’s pretty simple.  Get an NOA1 before 90 days up: always a legal alien.  Get it after 90 days up: illegal alien.  Breaking INS up into a bunch of agencies doesn’t change reality. And few things are more real that being in jail as OP suffered.

Support the exit stamp with boarding passes, receipts, photos of the two of you together.  The USCIS officer will not care about missing stamps or why they are missing.

Howard L reacted to Mike E in I-129F: Error on Affidavit of Loss
I am in the minority of K-1 petitioners  on Visa Journey who:

    * did not provide stamps (or boarding passes) in my evidence of having met in the last 2 years,

    * believes stamps are not necessary evidence,

    * believes photos together are essential evidence, and

    * hotel bookings and airline receipts are the most powerful evidence because who would spend all that money and not fly?

My fiancee, now wife, is a U.S. citizen now, and she entered on a K-1.

Read this blog post about one Consular Officer’s view on stamps as evidence:

    http://theconsulsfiles.blogspot.com/2011/02/bienvenue-enfants.html?m=1

Do this," she told the officers.  "If you intend to refuse an applicant for any reason and if the passport is still pristine, tell him in exactly these words, 'I'm sorry but you don't qualify for a US visa.  After all, you've never traveled out of your own country before.  You've never even been to France.'"

The officers laughed and complied, because they liked her but still wanted to prove her wrong.

    And guess what?

In less than a month, every single NIV applicant's passport showed a week's recent travel to France:  a visa, and Charles de Gaulle airport arrival and departure stamps.

Howard L reacted to sbarbie1914 in Passport photo requirement
My husband, in the Dominican Republic, went to a place to have his passport photo taken and they sent them to me via email.  When they arrived, they weren't the correct size.  I downloaded a passport photo app to my phone which allowed me to adjust the size and put multiple photos on one page.  then I uploaded the photo to Walgreens online and printed it there for a few cents.

The app will also guide you to take your own passport photos based on USA requirements.
