    So why not apply for a replacement/get a boarding foil so you can go back to the US? If you are still a LPR, you're not eligible for a new green card from the DV lottery.

    Have another read of the answers given above. There are no derivatives for immediate relatives. Your children need their own I-130's filed for them - follow @pushbrk's guide above so that you and the 3 youngest children can immigrate together. Good luck.

    Because your visa will only be valid for 6 months from the date of the medical, so they will leave that to the very last minute.

    Covid, when visa processing was suspended and consulates were closed.     Ah, you'll be hoping for the opposite result to me in November then - I'm in renewable energy. 😂 It is crazy expensive here but I couldn't live in Texas, that was a location option but not for us. To do your timeline you need to go to your profile, click on your name on the top right and it's there. Then it means anybody searching can filter by just EB1/EB2 applicants and get all of our timelines which is super helpful.

    It's not whether you specifically ar getting paid, it's whether anybody could ever be paid for the same role i.e. if you were doing a driving job that the charity would normally pay for. So as long as it's genuine volunteer work and they never compensate anybody for it (and you're not being compensated in any other way i.e. with accommodation) then it should be fine.

    Yep, but depends on who it petitioning the OP. If it's an agent, they can work in various places. If it's the employer offering them 20 hours a week, they cannot work for anybody else on the visa, so perhaps that's what the lawyer is referring to?

    You only need to have completed a general high school education for the DV. So as long as you've done that, you should be good.

    It's not the processing time of her visa, it's the wait for an interview that is longer. Other consulates (Lagos, Islamabad etc) have similar or even longer waits. It's just due to a big backlog, things have sped up this year though. Best of luck.

    Ah, you're talking about the wait for an interview? The processing time for the I-129f is the same regardless of country, it's the wait after that that differs.

    You can apply from anywhere, but note that he cannot enter the US on his tourist visa and try to stay - that's immigration fraud. He can visit, but then must return home to wait for his immigrant visa. I-130 is the only form you need to file to start the process, once that's approved you'll then have to do his DS-260 and submit his documents, but I-130 is it for now. Good luck.

    Are you sure that's the reason, where have you seen that? I'd be surprised if that is the case as immediate relative I-130's are normally given priority. I assumed it was just because of an increase in applications due to the fee increase in early 2024 (people rushing to apply before prices went up so now they have far more cases than usual to get through).

    You can track it using CEAC as usual, when it's on its way it will say 'in transit'. And you can search timelines on the forum to find recent processing times from DQ to IL at Manila. To respond to somebody individually you can either quote them (highlight the text you want to respond to, or just hit the 'quote' button), or you can use the @ symbol to tag them i.e. @dle3452 Good luck.

    Yes, I'm aware, but the petition approval is USCIS which is what I assume you meant when you said 90 days? So nothing to do with Manila.

    Good travel insurance will be vital. And a return flight and a hotel booking of course. Other than that, that'll be all you need - maybe proof that it's genuine volunteering (i.e. not admin work or anything anybody could be paid for), but I assume the invitation from the charity will cover that. And you might want to take a bank statement to show you have enough funds to live on for the 42 days just in case you're asked for it. Good luck and well done for volunteering, I hope that Milton doesn't make things much worse.

    As above, ignore it completely, it's useless. Contacting your employer is very unusual though. Are you the petitioner or beneficiary?

    There is, you can search timelines, although that does of course rely on people having filled them in. Looks like there were some 60+ days last summer as well, so not dissimilar. It always increases over the summer as focus is shifted to student visas etc that have a hard deadline - and of course this year, there was also the Diversity Visa as well. Now that deadline has passed, things should start to speed up again.

    No idea on the likelihood of getting a job in that field in Wisconsin tbh, mine is energy. But I agree with the suggestion above, make sure you take 1-2 years worth of salary just in case. This study is spot on for where I am, so may well help give you an idea of how much you'd need - assuming it's just you (no family) then it says $85k per year for a single adult to live comfortably. https://smartasset.com/data-studies/state-salary-living-comfortably-2024 I'd add on a chunk as you'll spend lots more when you first arrive just on setting up life there and things like having no credit score makes a big impact. But fingers crossed it won't take you long to find something, good luck.

    Oh, I see. I thought you meant that was your current job. Is your agent sponsoring you? If so they'll provide evidence of you being in demand as part of the petition, to show you can easily get more work.
