  1. Hi everyone, I started this topic to help everyone waiting for her/his physical green card after she/he arrived to the United States So I hope everyone share his OS155A status and post the time between his date of entry, the immigrant fee date, the date you received the physical card in mail. Wish you all the best My status: Poe: Newark May 5 2016 Paid : April 20 2016 USCIS status: payment received on 4/20/2016
  2. Hello - I am leaving the country and returning with AP for the first time. I am applying for AoS as married to a USC, and I received my EAD/advance parole a few weeks ago. I just accepted a job at a firm that provides advice/capital raising to cannabis firms in the US, and and owns minority percentages of cannabis companies. I do not believe we are doing anything federally illegal. We are not "touching the plant." We are not involved in the actual growing and selling of weed, just advising those who are (state legally) doing it on how to grow their business. 1) Is it likely they will ask who I work for at the port of entry on my return, and press me for the name of the company? (trip is for leisure but I will be at a port of entry for first time in 4 years) 2) do i have to tell them the name of the firm and what the firm does if asked (it has a website so it can be looked up), or can I just say "Finance/advisory/capital raising firm" and leave it at that? (I have no intention of lying or misrepresenting myself, just not giving all extraneous information unless required) 3) will it be a problem to enter if I work for this firm and they get the name and industry out of me? Thanks
  3. thanks mohamed My spouse and child is coming on IR1/IR2 visa , through united airline from New Delhi to Seattle but POE will be EWR . There will be only 2.35 hours layover at EWR . How much time does it take going through CBP/DHS and security . Moreover, I hope she is not required to check-in bags again, since she did it at the origin ( New Delhi to Seattle ) through United Airline. Also, I heard staff at this POE are not humble as google reviews reveled. Please , share if someone has such experience or any advice to handle it with ease ...Replies will be appreciated... Regards
  4. Hi everyone this is the story. Yesterday we submitted our i-130 in Seoul for processing. I think we made a mistake in filling out the form. On Page 2, Part2, Address History it asks for your all the places you have lived for the past 5 years. Prior to this filling we had gone through and obtained a green card that was subsequently abandoned. During the time of having the green card we lived in Korea on an i-131 travel permit in order to sell our house. Should we have listed the green card address used during this time? We never completed the move to the states and just rotated into and then out of the states after landing at our POE. Should I have listed the time we had the green card along with the domicile address used even though we were not physically present in the states during the time?
  5. Just got approval today for k1 fiancé visa. My fiancé is in UK and he is traveling to US at the end of the month. My concern is that in March 2020 he arrived at Chicago OHare airport on an ESTA from London UK and was denied entry. When they denied him entry they also said that he overstayed his previous visit even though he never stayed beyond the 90 days that the ESTA allows. I think it’s just because his travel plans changed from the original return date and he didn’t realize that he had to notify anyone. They thought we were going to try to get married but I was technically in the middle of a divorce at the time so I couldn’t legally get married. They still denied him entry and kept him overnight then he had to pay for his flight home the next day. My question is will this denial come up when he arrives at Chicago O’Hare again this month with his k1 visa and sealed paperwork in hand?
  6. Hi fellows So my wife got her IR1 and i just paid her green card fee on USCIS I've recently moved to a new place so the address listed on her i130/i864 is will not be used to receive her green card. I remember i entered my new address when i paid the 220 fee on USCIS two days ago, however, i can't remember if it was for a billing address or confirming the receiving address So my question is, since i've already paid the fee, at her POE of end of this month, can she still update the green card receiving address with the staff over there? If she updated at POE, is there any way to make sure that the staff correctly updated our new address after her entry? Thanks.
  7. Hey all, Just wanted to post this in the hope it helps someone else not waste as much time at the DMV as i have. I entered the US on a K1 visa back in April. I've had nothing but frustration with the local DMV (Santa Ana). After going down twice (without appointment) and giving up twice because of the monstrous lines. I finally made an appointment which I attended last week. I had heard I would have to wait until I got my EAD to be able to apply for a full Californian DL. I had however, discovered I could apply for a lesser DL in the meantime called an AB 60. So at my appointment I asked if I could apply for the AB 60 and was told my UK passport and SSN wouldn't be enough and it would need to be sent away for 3 months to a year for a 'secondary review'. I thought that cant be right!? After arguing my case and the employee calling 'an expert on this type of case' I got no where and gave up. So, today on the DMV CA website, I found the list of requirements for the AB 60. More in intriguingly, a list of acceptable Passports that DON'T need a secondary review. Low and behold! The UK Passport and nearly every other country in the world is on the list!!! So annoyed I wasted so much time. Rest assured I will be returning to said DMV with my print out in hand!!! Anyways, long story short... ALL YOU NEED TO APPLY FOR AN AB 60 licence in CA Your Passport Your SSN (temporary is fine too) Proof of address (I'm using my SSN letter attached to my card with address on) Here is the full list of requirements on the DMV California website: https://www.dmv.org/ca-california/ab-60-drivers-license.php Also, I'm sure this information is nothing new to some people and there are already posts similar to this BUT, I looked and I couldn't find anything giving me a definite answer. Thanks and hope this helps some of you!
  8. Hi all, CR1 visa holder in UK here. Travelling in a couple of weeks to enter the US on my visa and due to fly into Boston. A couple of questions: As the coronavirus blanket ban is still in place until November, do I need to take proof of my exemption alongside my visa (marriage cert and copy of husband's passport), or is my visa enough on its own? Also, in proving covid vaccination, is the little NHS card with the dosage stickers on its own sufficient, or do I need to take my full vaccination record and/or the signed medical vaccination record they gave me at the medical? Is it wise to take any other documents from the application process (DS260 confirmation page, for example?) to ease customs and border protection or is it literally just my passport with the visa in? Curious to hear how other new arrivals did it! Thanks all
  9. Hi there, I'm not sure if this is the correct thread to post in so I apologize in advance. My K-1 Visa got approved and I have received it in the mail so we are planning my move. I had a couple questions. 1. Other than my sealed envelope, passport and ID, do I need to make sure I have anything else on-hand and not packed? (Do I need to have the xray out as well?) 2. Does anyone know if train is an option? On the welcome to the USA paper they gave me, it says "You can enter the United States by car, bus, plane or boat. Regardless how you travel, allow one hour for processing". I ask because I used the train to go over there on my last visit. I believe Greyhound bus is closed til the border reopens and I had bad experiences with them so I'd like to avoid them if I can. 3. I don't own any furniture, but I can't fit everything into my suitcase/backpack. Am I allowed to mail my miscellaneous stuff to the address we'll be living together at? (I saw a thread on this but I can't seem to find it again, sorry!) Thank you so much for your time.
  10. Hi, I have gained my Lawful Permanent Resident status in the US on April 2019, last year, on that time I was serving in the army under mandatory law for military service in my home country. I have been serving since November 2017 and until July 2020. I have already had flight tickets in my hands into the US that were planned for April 2020- so I shall not remain outside of the US for a period longer than 1 year. Unfortunately, Covid-19 pandemic has shown up and I could not have come to the US on times because the airline has cancelled my tickets. because of that, I have exceeded 1 year outside of US borders and now I need to apply for SB-1 Returning Resident visa in order to come back to the US. this upcoming process is exhausting and complicated in order to issue me a new immigrant visa and may hurt my naturalisation process. my green card was only issued last year and is valid until 2029, my question is if would you recommend for me to just take a flight now into the US and deal with the immigration officer at the port of entry or start this visa process with the embassy in my home country?
