  1. Hi everyone, I started this topic to help everyone waiting for her/his physical green card after she/he arrived to the United States So I hope everyone share his OS155A status and post the time between his date of entry, the immigrant fee date, the date you received the physical card in mail. Wish you all the best My status: Poe: Newark May 5 2016 Paid : April 20 2016 USCIS status: payment received on 4/20/2016
  2. Hey everyone, Feel free to move this to the appropriate forum if this is not the right place to post this question. Summary of the situation My mom had a 10-year ban because she overstayed her visa in the U.S. She served her 10-year ban and now was granted a B2 visa. She will be coming to visit me and my family in the U.S. (wife and I are LPRs, child is USC). My aunt was recently in the same situation and came to visit us. Her POE was Fort Lauderdale and she got the stinky eye by some immigration officers that didn't know what to do given her history. Ultimately they allowed her in and she came and visited us on a B2 visa. My concern is that my mom faces the same issues at the POE because she'll be entering the U.S. for the first time after the ban on a new B2 visa. Question Would a POE from a larger airport like Houston or Dallas be better than smaller airports POE because the officers would be more experienced in this type of situation? We're in Austin,TX and tickets are cheaper if she comes through Sao Paulo-Mexico City and then San Antonio. My concern is the POE at San Antonio airport. Would it be better to pay more and enter through POE in Houston or would she be ok even at a smaller airport POE such as SAT? Thanks all!
  3. Hi everyone. My husband is planning to land at San Francisco (SFO) airport as his port of entry on CR1/IR1 visa. I wanted to find out that how much time does it usually takes to get CBP/immigration clearance for the CR1/IR1 visa holder at the point of entry into US? Because he is planning to take the the flight from SFO to MSP which flies after 3 and half hours after his international flight lands at SFO airport. I wanted to ask that are 3.5 hours enough to get custom/immigration clearance from after the first flight to board the next domestic flight to MSP?
  4. Hi All I had TB and treated to cure many years ago. But have scars in lungs. I got my spouse visa after did Sputum Culture test and shown negative. But on the visa it has annotation "Class B (TB) Req. ATTN of USPHS at POE" Please guide me what should I do at the POE and how should I followup for this. Thank you.
  5. Hello helpful Visa journey friends, Iam interested to know what experience you have had upon entry into the USA if you were initially a CR1 visa holder upon issuance but decided to wait to enter the USA past your two year wedding anniversary. Upon entering USA did you need to tell the immigration officer anything about the two year rule? Show your marriage license? Did you need to have this discussion about your new eligibility as a permanent resident vs conditional? Or was it automatically in the system? Did he comply or tell you he can’t help you? interested to know what your experiences were. Thank you!
  6. Hi guys, I've been following this site for quite a while now, but this is my first time posting here. I apologize in advance if I'm posting on the wrong topic. I had my interview at the Consulate in Rio on September 8th and entered the US on my CR1 visa on September 11 through Houston. At the POE the officer took me to secondary, where I waited for around 10 minutes when they handed me my passport back with the admission stamp. No questions asked or anything. My questions are: 1) Am I a permanent resident now or do I have to wait until I received the physical green card in the mail to be considered so? 2) Am I allowed to travel internationally with the endorsement on my IV CR1 visa? We booked a trip to Italy a few months ago when all of this was still up in the air, and now it's too late and expensive to cancel it. 3) I've read somewhere that CPB should have taken my fingerprints at POE, which of course didn't happen. Is that an actual rule? 4) Is there a way to check my SSN application status? I checked the box on my DS 260, but I've read stories here of people having to apply in person because the system didn't work. Sorry if those questions have been asked before. Thanks!
  7. thanks mohamed My spouse and child is coming on IR1/IR2 visa , through united airline from New Delhi to Seattle but POE will be EWR . There will be only 2.35 hours layover at EWR . How much time does it take going through CBP/DHS and security . Moreover, I hope she is not required to check-in bags again, since she did it at the origin ( New Delhi to Seattle ) through United Airline. Also, I heard staff at this POE are not humble as google reviews reveled. Please , share if someone has such experience or any advice to handle it with ease ...Replies will be appreciated... Regards
  8. Just got approval today for k1 fiancé visa. My fiancé is in UK and he is traveling to US at the end of the month. My concern is that in March 2020 he arrived at Chicago OHare airport on an ESTA from London UK and was denied entry. When they denied him entry they also said that he overstayed his previous visit even though he never stayed beyond the 90 days that the ESTA allows. I think it’s just because his travel plans changed from the original return date and he didn’t realize that he had to notify anyone. They thought we were going to try to get married but I was technically in the middle of a divorce at the time so I couldn’t legally get married. They still denied him entry and kept him overnight then he had to pay for his flight home the next day. My question is will this denial come up when he arrives at Chicago O’Hare again this month with his k1 visa and sealed paperwork in hand?
  9. Hi fellows So my wife got her IR1 and i just paid her green card fee on USCIS I've recently moved to a new place so the address listed on her i130/i864 is will not be used to receive her green card. I remember i entered my new address when i paid the 220 fee on USCIS two days ago, however, i can't remember if it was for a billing address or confirming the receiving address So my question is, since i've already paid the fee, at her POE of end of this month, can she still update the green card receiving address with the staff over there? If she updated at POE, is there any way to make sure that the staff correctly updated our new address after her entry? Thanks.
  10. Hi all, CR1 visa holder in UK here. Travelling in a couple of weeks to enter the US on my visa and due to fly into Boston. A couple of questions: As the coronavirus blanket ban is still in place until November, do I need to take proof of my exemption alongside my visa (marriage cert and copy of husband's passport), or is my visa enough on its own? Also, in proving covid vaccination, is the little NHS card with the dosage stickers on its own sufficient, or do I need to take my full vaccination record and/or the signed medical vaccination record they gave me at the medical? Is it wise to take any other documents from the application process (DS260 confirmation page, for example?) to ease customs and border protection or is it literally just my passport with the visa in? Curious to hear how other new arrivals did it! Thanks all
  11. Hi there, I'm not sure if this is the correct thread to post in so I apologize in advance. My K-1 Visa got approved and I have received it in the mail so we are planning my move. I had a couple questions. 1. Other than my sealed envelope, passport and ID, do I need to make sure I have anything else on-hand and not packed? (Do I need to have the xray out as well?) 2. Does anyone know if train is an option? On the welcome to the USA paper they gave me, it says "You can enter the United States by car, bus, plane or boat. Regardless how you travel, allow one hour for processing". I ask because I used the train to go over there on my last visit. I believe Greyhound bus is closed til the border reopens and I had bad experiences with them so I'd like to avoid them if I can. 3. I don't own any furniture, but I can't fit everything into my suitcase/backpack. Am I allowed to mail my miscellaneous stuff to the address we'll be living together at? (I saw a thread on this but I can't seem to find it again, sorry!) Thank you so much for your time.
  12. Please direct me to a Thread for People Waiting on Green Card after Arrival. Thanks
