  1. Well, you don't have to be together in person to be married. Plenty of people on VJ do Utah Zoom marriages. But if you're marrying in person, I would certainly try for at least another visit or two as well. Good luck.
  2. I'd think having never met would be a bigger red flag. You'll obviously need to meet in person before applying anyway, but for a high fraud consulate I'd personally recommend a lot more time together first, across several visits. Best of luck.
  3. Has he paid the green card fee?
  4. 1st October, not 3rd, the Fiscal Year runs 1st October to 30th September each year.
  5. Other consulates are issuing visas now that the new FY has started, I'd assume Montreal will be too - check your status and when it changes to 'issued' you know the visa is printed and will been on it's way soon. Good luck.
  6. If you only applied in 2019 then there's at least 15 years until there's a visa available to him anyway, and essentially USCIS doesn't rush the I-130's for case where there is no visa anyway. So it doesn't really matter how long the I-130 takes, although if he's got kids (or may have them at some point in the next 15 years) you want it to take as long as possible. At some point the I-130 will get approved, but then there's nothing to do but wait until he can actually start the visa application process. Good luck. There's no difference if he's married or not, there's only one category (F4) for siblings.
  7. They seem to be trying to make it all much more scary than it needs to be, in the hope that you'll use them for the whole K-1/AOS/ROC process (each of which are lengthy and expensive - but not complicated!). There is a rule about not reapplying for another K-1 within 2 years if the first one was approved and the marriage doesn't happen. But if it's denied then there's no such rule and you'd be free to reapply again immediately.
  8. There are many reasons ESTA can be refused, criminal record is only one of them. You'll be asked about previous visas/visits as part of your application, which may also affect it. But you can certainly apply and see what happens.
  9. Is your wife the petitioner or the beneficiary?
  10. Elavod's also says marriage licence though. And the OP has a letter confirming that is the marriage certificate, so I'd think resubmitting it with that should be fine.
  11. Fair enough. The CR-1 would take a bit longer, but you'd only have the one application to do (versus the K-1, then AOS, then removal of conditions 2 years down the line as well). And you'd be work authorised from day 1, able to travel, be a green card holder and start working towards citizenship sooner etc. It just might cause a lot less stress than the K-1 route, but your call obviously, I just thought it worth mentioning if you find these types of things anxiety inducing.
  12. I think you're worrying unnecessarily. And FWIW, I don't think 18 months is 'very soon to get married', I know loads of people who've got married within that time (myself included - 22 years ago….and still very happy!). If you search the forums you'll see that affidavits/pictures from/with friends and family aren't given much weight anyway. But one thing I would say is that if you are a worrier, have you looked at getting married first and doing a spousal visa? That is a simpler route overall and might cause less anxiety. Good luck.
  13. If it's only turned to 'issued' today then that just means it's been printed and in the passport. It then sits waiting for pick up - ours wasn't picked up the same day it was issued, it was the next day (I guess they have a cut off). Once it's been collected by DX and it's on its way you'll get the info.
  14. So when is/was the interview? Your previous posts say 25th/26th Sept, has she already had it? If so how did it go?
  15. Yes, we got texts and the tracking number is also put on CEAC (although we'd already had the text with it by that point).
  16. The officer probably assumed you knew. Keep an eye on that status, fingers crossed it changes very soon!
  17. It was announced on 27th August - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/News/visas-news/annual-limit-reahed-in-the-eb-1-category.html What does CEAC say? Hopefully your status updates to issued soon if it hasn't already, good luck.
  18. Just update it upon entry, the officer should check the address is still correct as part of the processing. We had a hotel address on our DS-260 as we didn't know where we would be living, when we entered on the visas we had secured a rental house so just updated it with the immigration officer. I typed the address up and printed it out to give to him just in case.
  19. That's nothing to do with the consulate though, that's because there were no visas available until yesterday. I'd have had the same thing if I'd had my interview at the end of the Fiscal Year when the quota had filled.
  20. Congrats! And no problem at all, it was only last year that I was in the same boat and I remember it well. We got our passports back within 4 days (interview Monday afternoon, passports arrived Thursday morning) so hopefully it's as quick for you. Best of luck for the move.
  21. OK, so yes you are eligible for a visa if your PD is current. I must be misunderstanding your question then, can you clarify?
  22. Yes, it can, because you can be DQ'ed well before your PD is current. You can start the NVC process when your date is current on Table B of the Visa Bulletin, but there's still no visa available to you until it's current on Table A. What is your PD and which category? Please do fill in your timeline.
