  1. Hi everyone, I started this topic to help everyone waiting for her/his physical green card after she/he arrived to the United States So I hope everyone share his OS155A status and post the time between his date of entry, the immigrant fee date, the date you received the physical card in mail. Wish you all the best My status: Poe: Newark May 5 2016 Paid : April 20 2016 USCIS status: payment received on 4/20/2016
  2. On 10/7 my case status changed to “Card was mailed to me”. I received the Approval Notice in the regular mail on the same day. It’s supposed that next day (10/8) the status should update to “USPS pick up your mail” and also should provide me the tracking number. However the case status never changes anymore. I have signed up the Informed Delivery on USPS website, over there no tracking number shows up either. Today (10/10) I called USCIS few times, the representatives couldn’t find the tracking number for me, they just keep saying that the card has been shipped out, I need to be patient and need to wait for 60-120 days (different representative told me the different timeslot). They refused to transfer me to Tier2 and said Tier2 can’t help either. It’s not a good sign. In most cases, people received their green cards within 3 days after the “card was mailed” case status. I googled and realized that I might need to file I-90 and USCIS will reproduce a new card for me, and it will take up to one year and half! What should I do? Anybody have the similar experience or any suggestion? Thank you guys in advance! 😐
  3. Hey friends, Never thought I'd have to renew this bad boy-- but that's USCIS for you! I've read countless of threads, and the official instructions a few times through, but just want to make sure I haven't missed anything. CHECKLIST "Tear-off portion" sheet with 3 barcodes from previous EAD approval attached to the front of my packet (Original or photocopy?) EAD Cover Letter G-1145 Original i-765 2 passport photo's (Name and Alien Number written on back) Photocopy of i-797c for my i-485 Photocopy of i-797c for my previous i-765 submission Photocopy of i-797c biometrics appointment notice Photocopy of current EAD card (front and back) Photocopy of Potential Interview Waiver Notice Photocopy of i-94 (front and back) AP Cover Letter G-1145 Original i-131 2 passport photo's (Name and Alien Number written on back) Photocopy of i-797c for my i-485 Photocopy of i-797c for my previous i-131 submission Photocopy of i-797c biometrics appointment notice Photocopy of current EAD card (front and back) Photocopy of K1 Visa Supplement sheet explaining reasoning for AP request And then as a side note, to my knowledge-- since I'm ©(9), I don't need to pay a filing fee. And the address I should be sending to is: USCIS Chicago Lockbox For U.S. Postal Service: USCIS P.O. Box 805887 Chicago, IL 60680-4120 For Express mail and courier deliveries: USCIS Attn: FBAS 131 South Dearborn-3rd Floor Chicago, IL 60603-5517 Did I get everything? Pretty paranoid about sending this off-- as always!! Once again, all comments, advice and feedback are greatly appreciated!
  4. I filed for AoS in March, got expedited EAD a few days ago in August due to a job offer. A couple of days before my EAD showed up, another unexpected card came in the mail - my social security number card!! Is that normal? I was under the impression the SSN card came 5-6 weeks after the EAD was printed/granted.... And then as if that's not enough, my green card status changed to 'ready for interview' yesterday! It's all go, all of a sudden.... I'm just glad I can finally work. The only thing I don't have is my advance parole travel pass because USCIS made a mistake with my form so it's delayed like a month behind the rest of my process.... Anyway, is that normal? To get an SSN days before getting my EAD??
  5. I entered the states on January 3rd and I got my green card in the mail by Jan 25! A lot faster than I was told at customs.
  6. I have a CR-1. I submitted the I-751 for removal of conditional residence. I received the I-797 which extends the validity for 6 months. How long can i travel outside the US with the I-751 pending? Also, if I stay out of the US for 11 months, can I come back for 1 week and go out of the US again?
  7. I will just put this up here as it was one of my main worries about moving to the US. I just got issued my first US credit card today. Anyone who has been here will tell you this can be a real pain to get since you start with no credit history. My background: I'm from the UK and have gone through the whole K1 process and am now married and adjusting towards my first greencard (the 2 year conditional one). This info assumes you can get an American Express credit card back home and they allow you to use their global transfer system with it. Firstly: Get an american express card, preferably one with no annual fees and start using it - You have to have the card at least 3 months I believe to be considered. Secondly: Make sure you keep this card in good standing and use it for as much as possible whilst you're still in your home country. Third: Once you're in the US with your K1 visa, get your SSN ASAP. Forth: After you're married phone up the American Express customer service and get them to direct you to global transfer, they will guide you through all the steps. The reason I say wait until you are married is that you can give your spouse's salary as other income you can reasonably expect access to, which should help the application. The phonecall took me 30 minutes, I waited almost 3 months to do this and wish I hadn't put it off. If you want a trouble free way of getting access to a way to build your credit rating I would highly recommend this. Also just for reference I was approved today, the card has a credit limit comparable to back in the UK and has good terms. Yesterday I was declined for a store card at a well known large retailer. I don't know what I would have done without this as no-one is going to touch you without credit. -Reggie.
  8. Hello, I applied I-751 after my ex left me. After that, I have moved to the different state and applied for a new job. The problem is, the company is using 3rd party to take care of employee benefit, and info etc. That 3rd party company tried to put my info through the system that is called "e verify" and failed once(that actually freaked me out a bit) E veryfy is the system made by the gov to verify foreign workers. After that happened, HR person called me into her office and told me that I could be in trouble. I checked the document again and found out that the 3rd party company put wrong info from my conditional green card. I fixed it, and it got passed they verify system. Here is my question. In this case, would system record has my case that was failed once? I am just worried a bit about how this "failed attempt" could hurt my I-751 case or my status as a conditional green card holder. This may sound overreacting, but I have been reading news articles about how the USCIS has been so irrational and evicted many green card holders and even people who got citizenship years ago. This could be a new topic, but if you know, please share your info with me.
