That’s why I said some - more of an issue for some classes, less of an issue for yours. For example if it was a DV visa - those are capped and highly dynamic, it can take the VO a while to ensure they’ve got the numbers right at that time of the year before releasing more. At some point those visas run out, and when it gets closer to the cap they have to be very calculated.

Edit: I should clarify that when I said a visa must be available I meant “available at the consulate for immediate use”. Some visas like IR1 are available with no caps, but they’re not available for immediate use at the consulate until the VO releases them to the consulate - hope that makes sense.

I'm sure you meant to say freedom of speech and freedom to assemble.

Unless you aren't aware of the US Constitution, in which case you are forgiven.  Not all foreigners know of this wonderful document.

Protesters storm Kevin McCarthy's office over HIV bill, get dragged out by cops

Protesters stormed House Speaker Kevin McCarthy's Congressional office on Tuesday, demanding that he and other House Republicans re-up funding for an AIDs relief program.

Protesters with Housing Works pressed their way into McCarthy's office and refused to move until Capitol Hill Police arrived and arrested them. The group was demanding a 5-year reauthorization of the PEPFAR global AIDs relief program, which they say has saved "25 million lives."

Seems appropriate here since the current leader of the Democrats is a petulant baby.  Slow, steady, corrupt and petulant…

Biden rages that staff treats him like a child, new book claims: ‘Was John Kennedy ever babied like that?’

WASHINGTON – Despite his status as the nation’s oldest president in history, Joe Biden feels he is “babied” by his staff, setting off the 80-year-old’s Irish temper, according to a new book peeling back the inner workings of the White House.

The gaffe-prone president’s staff regularly scrambles to mop up the messes Biden makes with off-script comments, but the efforts are not always appreciated, according to Franklin Foer’s “The Last Politician,” which went on sale Tuesday.

Democrats do in fact want complete power, a re-written constitution, and single Party rule.  Hmm, that cannot go badly.

It will be interesting to see how it all shakes out, but maybe a peaceful break-up of the US is warranted.  One side can take the Constitution and continue the plan of the Founding Fathers, and the other side can continue to follow their Marxist ideology.

The title is a little off as the article even says extremist on both sides are doing things like this.  I certainly do not condone anyone attacking infrastructure or emergency services.  The fact that the Far Left is responsible for the majority of attacks on emergency services though really grinds me.  As a former firefighter myself, I can say it is abhorrent to attack police, fire, EMS services when they are trying to respond to an emergency, but whatever.

I was curious why they included a couple of attacks where no one was found such as the one near Silicon Valley.  It seems the authors want to include these as far Right attacks, but we know there are many violent extremist activist, particularly in environmentalist community, that use the same tactics.

Whatever, we can agree that attacks by far Right and far Left are bad, beyond that, it is just political to dismiss one (for the most part) and focus on the other.

Lincoln, Reagan, Trump, were the only good and effective GOP presidents. I can understand the hate for Trump, but a lefty article that fails to bring up Reagan is absurd.

If you read a righty article that said Truman and Clinton,  were neither good nor effective presidents, would you take it seriously?

I am probably going to get a lot of hate for this but the reason is pretty clear why we are all on AP. Everyone knows that this is an election year and there are certain forces behind the US government who are pulling some stuff to make changes. This is why you are seeing so many issues with the border(this has been happening for years so why focus on it now?).
I guess in a year we will all comeback to this  forum and realize maybe we were lucky to get AP. I hope not but time will tell for sure.

I think what gets to me,  is after a while you start to worry if they've confused you for someone really bad.

The problem is, if they have, they will NEVER tell you or ask you to clarify. If they've  lost your files or missed your ds5535, they will never say anything.

They can, as they argue, keep you in this FOREVER and you  must accept it and consider yourself refused.

I would rather just get a final decision at this point. It's torture.

I know most Canadians are kind of always smug and sneering when it comes to the US (the less popular brother syndrome) but I've always defended the country and considered it the best Earth and humanity can offer.

However, there does seem to be an utterly psychotic torturous dysfunctional side to the country, the insane indifferent bureaucracy. The maddening nonsensical rules (you are such a threat you need a 1 year background check, but free to visit??).

Canada might suck but Canadian immigration is much more freindly and responsive,  more humane.

Some people are trying to plan families,  biological clocks are ticking.  None of us getting any younger, and life is passing by.

All people are asking for is a decision, give  a yes or a no, if no , explain why and allow the person to respond. I would expect that from the greatest country with the most iconic constitution.

    Heh.

Honestly, I hate to say it, but the best way to get through AP is to just accept that it’s not happening on any reasonable timeline and to simply put aside whatever plans you had. Stop checking your status and counting down the days - just lay out whatever your strategy is going to be (WoM after a certain amount of time or whatever you opt for) and move on.

I know that sounds defeatist and is easier said than done for many of us (myself included) to varying degrees, but the alternative is to sit on your hands & obsess while waiting in anguish for months or even years. It sucks, it’s unlucky, and it reflects a dysfunctional, broken system. But none of that will change the outcome. Nor does it mean the consulate has legitimate suspicions that you’re a criminal or that you’re somehow a less worthy applicant.

Plan to wait for a year minimum, and if the visa comes in the meantime, then great. Better to be pleasantly surprised than disappointed. This attitude is what has kept me mostly sane.

There's not much to do other than to contact an immigration lawyer.

If you asked in 2018, before you illegally crossed into Canada, we would have advised you not to do so and the potential consequences.

If you asked before applying for a B2 visa with your Canada refugee document, we would have advised you not to do so and the potential consequences.

Currently you are experiencing those consequences - mainly, the denial of the B2 and bar from entry to the US.  The best chance to visit was to wait until you received Canadian citizenship and attempt a land crossing, although CBP could have denied your entry due to the illegal crossing in 2018.
