  1. Last update was 40 days ago… but that’s also my promoted email inquiry about document receipt from their end (which they did not acknowledge or replied). So I don’t see that as a “spontaneous updates”. Therefore I didn’t update the excel.
  2. Also not sure if it’s because it’s processed at USCIS directly and didn’t really go through a consulate (being a Canadian and the reason above). Also proofs the point that DS5535 was issued based on invalid reasons because clearly there are no security threats.
  3. I applied for the H1B after 221g was issued (pending DS5535) for IR1. The attorney representing my employer/me is aware of the ongoing IR1 petition and didn’t see an issue. Luckily, from that front, I didn’t encounter any problem. My intension is still to return to Canada to complete consular processing for IR1 once AP is completed and I shared that upfront. Not sure if this was explicitly mentioned or was even asked for the petition. One good thing to know - as Canadian, I am interview exempted, meaning I can directly cross the boarder and get my visa stamped there. I was dreading yet another interview, cause I still have ++ PTSD post montreal interview.
  4. Hello folks! A quick update. I’d been on AP for almost a year now (since April 2023). I am in the medical field. My employer was able to file a H1B petition for me and was successful. I was relieved to see that my IR1 petition did not impact my H1B (I know that on paper the two petitions have no bearing on each other, but didn’t believe it until actually seeing it happen). im gonna keep my IR1 petition open… in hopes that the light to the end of the tunnel is near. It has to be right? Sigh. My status hasn’t been updated for the past month. I had give up emailing for updates, as I either get a template response or no response at all.
  5. They will contact you to submit passport once security clearance is completed on their end. I was advised this by the consulate in one of my email inquiries.
  6. I don’t understand the complete standstill with all cases since Jan 2023. Are there ppl OUTSIDE of this chat forum that is actually being cleared?? I can’t even imagine the backlog the system is facing now. I wonder does this have anything to do with changes to the system post public opinion inquest. Hang in there everyone!
  7. Has anyone who interviewed in Jan - April 2023 heard anything from the consulate?
  8. Thank you to the person who told us about the Case Tracker app! It’s life changing. No more entering the stupid code for verification!! Wish I knew about this ten months ago!
  9. I mailed in my proper RCMP document to Montreal. The document arrived Feb 8. I emailed them to request for receipt confirmation on Feb 9. They responded Feb 22 with mainly template response (eg “we realize the extended time causes frustrations… we are doing what we can blah blah” ) BUT NEVER DID THEY CONFIRM RECEIPT OF DOCUMENT. Stupid. Status was updated Feb 22 which I assume corresponded with the email. Got another “unsolicited” status update Feb 27. I assume that’s when someone finally opened the mail and added the document to my file. Many assumptions can be made in this situation. What I gather is that they move at snail speed. SMH
  10. I mean, i get it you are in a tough situation. Especially when you’ve waited for almost a decade for this. Even holding off marriage … I would be anxious too if I’m in your shoes as I would do everything I could to minimize the risk for AP and DS5535. But honestly, I feel that ppl here are selected either 1) at random or 2) cause they fit the official profile (country of chargeability and TAL profession). All of which you really have no control over or have the ability to change at this point. If there’s anything that the officer would considered as red flag, I would think he/she would ask further question to investigate further and that you would answer truthfully and at your best abilities. I know this may sound rude. I feel like your situation is a bit different from the experience of most ppl here who have gone through interview and have been placed on AP. I can’t quite relate to what you are going through. Are there other chat groups in this website for ppl awaiting for interviews?
  11. @JamesTan when exactly is your interview? Have you gotten an interview date yet?
  12. Also expect at least a 2 weeks wait for a response. That’s the case for me as well! Good luck!
  13. It’s a hit and miss with responses for me for emails regarding receipt of documents. They tend to response first with a templates email (if they choose to response) that does not address your questions at all. It’s only after a few back and forth email until someone actually READ your inquiries and answer your questions. My status will then get updated after each email response. Now I’m just hesitant to email them at all, because then it’ll look they did some work on my case, when in reality, all the status updates are “triggered” from my end. I feel like I’m not “building a good case” for this stupid wait that I, like many of you here, are stuck in.
